Shell, BP, and Amoco Shop with Points Terms<\/span><\/h2>\n\n- Eligible Citi cardholders can ‘Shop with Points<\/a>‘ at participating Shell<\/a>, BP, and Amoco<\/a> fuel stations.<\/li>\n
- Eligible cards include most Citi credit cards with available ThankYou\u00ae<\/sup> Points (including Citi Prestige\u00ae<\/sup> Card, Citi Strata Premier\u00ae<\/sup> Card<\/a> (Rates & Fees<\/a>), and Citi Rewards+\u00ae<\/sup> Card<\/strong>).<\/li>\n
- Citi Double Cash\u00ae<\/sup> Card<\/a> (Rates & Fees<\/a>) cardholders who have converted cash rewards to ThankYou\u00ae<\/sup> Points are also eligible to use Shop with Points.<\/li>\n
- Redeem your points for up to 50\u00a2 off per gallon of gas, up to a maximum of 20 gallons total<\/strong>. This represents a maximum savings of $10 by redeeming 1,250 TYPs (0.8\u00a2 per point).<\/li>\n
- You can see how many points you redeemed on your receipt or on the ThankYou\u00ae<\/sup> website.<\/li>\n
- There is no enrollment or registration required.<\/li>\n
- Authorized users on eligible Citi cards can also redeem ThankYou\u00ae<\/sup> points at participating fuel stations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

To Shop with Points at an eligible fuel station:<\/p>\n
\n- Swipe your eligible card at the pump.<\/li>\n
- When the gas pump screen prompts you with an offer to redeem ThankYou\u00ae<\/sup> Points, select ‘Yes'.<\/li>\n
- Pump your gas like normal, and check your redemption rate on the printed receipt or on the ThankYou\u00ae<\/sup> website.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

Moreover, it's a good thing when card-issuing banks add flexibility for redeeming points. However, I'm not sold on this new redemption option.<\/p>\n
I typically value Citi ThankYou\u00ae<\/sup> Points<\/a> around 1.7\u00a2 each. That's because they present several wonderful opportunities for sweet-spot award redemptions using unique transfer partners\u2014including Turkish Airlines<\/a> and Etihad. From that perspective, using them at a value of 0.8\u00a2 per point is certainly less than ideal. However, if you're not planning to book any other kind of travel soon, perhaps this is worth it for you.<\/p>\nUltimately, most ThankYou\u00ae<\/sup> Point collectors will continue to get the best value when transferring points for partner redemptions. This week, Citi released a new way to redeem your ThankYou\u00ae points. Now, ThankYou\u00ae point collectors can redeem points right at the pump at Shell, BP, and Amoco gas stations using Citi’s ‘Shop with Points’ feature.
