The <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/credit-cards\/amex-membership-rewards\/american-express-global-lounge-collection\/\" rel=\"noopener\">American Express Global Lounge Collection<\/a> provides eligible cardholders access to Priority Pass lounges, Plaza Premium Lounges, Delta Sky Clubs<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, and more. Some of these benefits require enrolling an eligible Amex card before use.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond these partnerships, American Express also owns and operates its own network of premium spaces known as Centurion Lounges.<\/p>\n<p>Each Centurion Lounge is designed as a complete experience, featuring chef-prepared meals as part of <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/news\/amex-membership-rewards\/amex-culinary-concept-sidecar-lounge\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Amex's Culinary Collective<\/a>, complimentary drinks, shower suites, dedicated work areas, and destination-inspired amenities such as outdoor terraces, whiskey bars, and Blue Roast coffee shops.<\/p>\n<p>And as of March 2026, Amex also operates one concept lounge (with another likely on the way) called Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge. However, Amex has opened a temporary location near Gate D12. You'll find it just after the security checkpoint near Compass Books and Napa Farms Market. The permanent lounge is expected to reopen in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, eligible cardholders can access several additional lounges at SFO, including the Delta Sky Club, Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, China Airlines Dynasty Lounge, Golden Gate Lounge, and The Club SFO, in addition to the temporary Centurion Lounge. These lounges are accessible through the American Express Global Lounge Collection.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"US_Sidecar_by_The_Centurion_Lounge_locations\"><strong>U.S. Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge locations<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>American Express operates one concept <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/amex-membership-rewards\/sidecar-centurion-las\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge at Las Vegas\u2019 Harry Reid International Airport (LAS)<\/a>. The new Terminal 1 lounge opened on March 30, 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span id=\"Future_Centurion_Lounge_locations\"><strong>Future Centurion Lounge locations<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Beyond the lounges already open and operating, American Express has several new projects in development. In the coming years, Card Members can look forward to new Centurion Lounges and innovative lounge concepts in the following locations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/credit-cards\/amex-membership-rewards\/centurion-lounge-amsterdam\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Amsterdam (AMS)<\/a>:<\/strong> A brand-new Centurion Lounge, spanning nearly 6,000 square feet, is expected to open at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport in 2026.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Newark (EWR):<\/strong> Construction is underway for a large new Centurion Lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport, also slated to open in 2026.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/news\/amex-membership-rewards\/centurion-lounge-boston\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Boston (BOS)<\/a>:<\/strong> While not yet officially confirmed, details about a new Centurion Lounge at Boston Logan International Airport were leaked earlier this year. If accurate, it\u2019s expected to open sometime in 2027.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/amex-membership-rewards\/sidecar-centurion-clt\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Charlotte (CLT) \u2014 Sidecar<\/a>:<\/strong> American Express received approval in March 2026 to bring a Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). However, the issuer hasn't officially confirmed the space, so there's no set timeline for when it might open.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span id=\"How_Do_You_Access_Centurion_Lounges\">How Do You Access Centurion Lounges?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>American Express premium cards offer a range of fantastic benefits, including Centurion Lounge access. If you don't have a card that offers membership, you won't be able to enter the Centurion Lounge. Plain and simple.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To enter a Centurion Lounge, you must have your eligible card, boarding pass, and a government-issued I.D.<\/li>\n<li>For Platinum and Delta co-branded cardmembers, Centurion Lounges are only accessible to members departing on that same day.<\/li>\n<li>Entry for <a data-ccid=\"4048102\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/delta-skymiles\/delta-reserve-business\/\">Business Delta Reserve<\/a> and <a data-ccid=\"4048149\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/delta-skymiles\/delta-reserve-card\/\">Delta Reserve<\/a> cardmembers is limited to entry when flying on a same-day Delta-marketed or Delta-operated flight purchased with your card.<\/li>\n<li>You can only access Centurion Lounges prior to departure and on connections. However, the timing of access works a bit differently.<\/p>\n<p>You can access a Sidecar location starting 90 minutes before your flight departs \u2014 and not a minute earlier \u2014 even if you're on a connection. To access these spaces, you can add yourself to the digital waitlist, but Amex does not permit Card Members to make advance reservations.<\/p>\n<p>These spaces operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
