But flying from Atlanta (ATL) to London (LHR) in a lie-flat seat for 29,000 points is an incredible deal. West Coast routes are cheaper. Again, this requires that &#8220;saver space&#8221; is available. Business-class award space is much easier to find and can be an even better deal, with awards costing just 105,000\u2013120,000 miles round-trip between the U.S. and Japan \u2014 or 75,000 if you fly to\/from Hawaii.<\/p>\n<p>You can <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/news\/virgin-atlantic-flying-club\/book-one-way-ana-awards\/\" rel=\"noopener\">book one-way awards on ANA using Virgin points<\/a> for half the round-trip price. That's useful if you only find availability one way or want to use another mileage program to fly the other direction.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Finding_ANA_award_availability\">Finding ANA award availability<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Finding ANA first class award availability can be especially challenging, as the carrier doesn't open much award space \u2014 particularly in the first class cabin.<\/p>\n<p>To be alerted when this award availability opens up, consider signing up for an award alert service such as <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/travel\/thrifty-traveler-premium\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Thrifty Traveler Premium+<\/a> or checking out <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/travel\/seats-aero-guide\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Seats.aero<\/a> (which has a dedicated <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/seats.aero\/anaf\" rel=\"noopener\">ANA first class finder<\/a> tool). It's easy; you can filter to &#8220;nonstop only,&#8221; and partner award space available to United should be bookable with Virgin Atlantic. Once you settle on your preferred flights, call Virgin Atlantic. Provide the agent with your flight dates and numbers, and they will confirm that award seats are available. Then, you can complete your booking by paying the required cash and miles.<\/p>\n<p>If you don't have the miles to book, you can put the award on hold while you transfer points.
