Multiplying at 2X would cost roughly 1.50\u00a2 per mile, after factoring in the bonus. GST\/HST\/QST is charged to Canadian residents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span id=\"Is_This_a_Good_Deal\">Is This a Good Deal?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We don't recommend buying miles speculatively, so let's start by saying &#8220;It's a good deal only if you have a plan for using these miles.&#8221; Second, it's a good deal if you can buy miles cheaply and redeem them at high values. You can find some good ideas in our list of <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/airlines\/flying-blue\/best-award-flights\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Air France\u2013KLM Flying Blue sweet spots<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In general, though, this is a decent deal. Flying Blue regularly offers members bonuses on buying miles. The most recent <a href=\"\/airlines\/flying-blue\/buy-miles\/\">Flying Blue Buy miles<\/a> offer saw prices as low as 1.68\u00a2 apiece, which makes 1.50\u00a2 look fantastic. However, you can <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/airlines\/flying-blue\/subscribe-to-miles\/\" rel=\"noopener\">subscribe to get Flying Blue miles for as little as 1.34\u00a2 apiece<\/a>, so this offer falls somewhere in the middle.<\/p>\n<p>If you're a little bit short on miles for an upcoming award redemption, consider buying in small increments. It also could be a good option if you've exhausted other sources for Flying Blue miles and know you'll redeem them at a higher value than what you pay here.<\/p>\n<p>This can be a good deal if you'd spend less money buying the miles for an award redemption than you'd pay for a ticket in cash. For instance, I can book a Flying Blue promo reward ticket from Raleigh (RDU) to Paris (CDG) in March 2026 for just 18,750 miles. Even after factoring in the $103.40 I'll pay in taxes and fees for an award redemption, I'm spending a total of $362.32 for a plane ticket that typically costs $598.
