TAP Miles&Go miles expire three years after they are earned. Per the TAP terms and conditions page<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cTAP Miles&Go are valid for three (3) years from date of collection, except when otherwise specified.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This expiration deadline applies to \u201cnormal\u201d miles. However, what TAP classes as \u201cbonus” miles expire one year from the date you earn them. Again, per the T&C\u2019s page:<\/p>\n

Extending the Validity of Your Miles<\/span><\/h2>\n

Fortunately, if the three-year deadline is approaching, you can pay to extend the validity of your miles. Extensions are done in increments of 2,000 miles, and extended miles will have their validity extended for a further three years — although TAP classifies these newly extended miles as bonus miles. Unfortunately, TAP does not publish the pricing for reinstating miles.<\/p>\n

Once your TAP miles have expired, you cannot pay to reinstate them. Instead, those miles are lost forever.<\/p>\n

Boosting Your TAP Miles&Go Mileage Balance<\/span><\/h2>\n

The traditional way of earning TAP Miles&Go miles is by flying TAP Portugal or Star Alliance partners like United Airlines. One thing to keep in mind if you transfer Marriott Bonvoy points<\/a> is the built-in transfer bonus. When you transfer at least 60,000 Marriott points, you will receive an additional 5,000-mile bonus. With the bonus, transferring 60,000 points will yield 25,000 TAP Miles&Go miles instead of the standard 20,000 miles.<\/p>\n
