For frequent travelers, CLEAR+ is a great way to speed through airport security. If you're not yet a member, now might be a good time to join if you're interested in earning some airline miles for doing so. Right now, new members can earn up to 1,500 Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards points.<\/p>\n

Additionally, several airline elite status members and certain credit cardholders can get a free or discounted CLEAR+ membership.<\/p>\n

Below, we break down the ways to get CLEAR+ for free, current enrollment promotions, and how to save on your membership if you don\u2019t qualify for a complimentary one.<\/p>\n

What Is CLEAR?<\/span><\/h2>\n

CLEAR is a paid security service that uses biometric data to verify your identity at airports. Instead of waiting in standard TSA security lines, you scan your fingerprint or eyes at a CLEAR kiosk and are then escorted to the front of the TSA checkpoint.<\/p>\n

In most cases, CLEAR speeds up the security process significantly. However, there are occasional instances where the CLEAR line may be longer than TSA PreCheck<\/a>. But, my own experiences with CLEAR at the Denver and Seattle airports were fantastic, as I was (somehow) the only person in the line both times. Like all things in travel, your mileage may vary.<\/p>\n

Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards elite members (Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Titanium) can earn 1,500 Alaska points when they link their accounts and enroll<\/a> for the first time at a slightly discounted rate of $199.<\/p>\n

If you already have a CLEAR+ membership, you can renew (or reinstate) for another year and receive 1,250 Alaska points after paying the annual fee.<\/p>\n

Bonus Atmos Rewards<\/a> points will be credited to your account within 60 days of completing enrollment or renewal, as long as your CLEAR account remains active.<\/p>\n
