That limitation doesn\u2019t apply to multi-partner awards. However, to qualify for a multi-carrier partner award, your itinerary must include either:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Two Oneworld airlines, excluding Cathay Pacific, <strong>or<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Three or more Oneworld airlines, of which Cathay Pacific is one of them<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span id=\"Best_Uses_of_Asia_Miles\">Best Uses of Asia Miles<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Now, with award charts and rules established, let's dive into the sweet spots!<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Round-the-world_business_class_trips\">Round-the-world business class trips<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>For travel fanatics, there's not much better than a round-the-world trip booked with points and miles. Credit: Great Circle Mapper<\/em><\/enter><\/figure>\n<p>While the usual multi-carrier award rules apply, there are a few extra guidelines to keep in mind:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your round-the-world itinerary can cover up to 50,000 miles<\/li>\n<li>You\u2019re allowed up to five stopovers, two transfers or layovers, and two open-jaws<\/li>\n<li>You must end your trip in the same city where it began<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Let's take a look at some example round-the-world journeys.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Los Angeles (LAX) \u2013 Sydney (SYD)<\/strong> in Qantas business class<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sydney (SYD) \u2013 Hong Kong (HKG)<\/strong> in Cathay Pacific business class<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hong Kong (HKG) \u2013 Dubai (DXB)<\/strong> in Cathay Pacific business class<\/li>\n<li><strong>Doha (DOH) \u2013 London (LHR)<\/strong> in Qatar Airways business class<\/li>\n<li><strong>London (LHR) \u2013 Los Angeles (LAX)<\/strong> in British Airways business class<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This itinerary, which circumnavigates the globe in some of the most remarkable business-class cabins, would only cost 250,000 Asia Miles. Alternatively, you could book the following for 230,000 miles:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>San Francisco (SFO) \u2013 Tokyo (HND\/NRT)<\/strong> in Japan Airlines business class<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tokyo (HND\/NRT) \u2013 Hong Kong (HKG)<\/strong> in Cathay Pacific business class<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hong Kong (HKG) \u2013 Singapore (SIN)<\/strong> in Cathay Pacific business class<\/li>\n<li><strong>Singapore (SIN) \u2013 Nadi (NAN)<\/strong> in Fiji Airways business class<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nadi (NAN) \u2013 San Francisco (SFO)<\/strong> in Fiji Airways business class<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Notice this award didn't actually go around the world. And that's ok. Creativity is key with round-the-world bookings. You're limited only by the Asia Miles routing rules, the number of miles you have, and the availability you can find.<\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve searched for award availability and found flights for each of your destinations, you\u2019ll want to give Asia Miles a call to reserve your flights. You generally can't book these awards online. You might be able to use the Flight Award Request form. But, with ever-changing award availability, it's better to call to complete the booking as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Low-cost_British_Airways_business_class\">Low-cost British Airways business class<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Flights to and from London with British Airways incur insanely heavy fees, especially if you're booking with British Airways Avios. Although redemptions are reasonably priced, you'll end up paying around $1,000 in fees in either direction when flying between the U.S. and London. In fact, economy awards for flights up to 2,750 miles actually dropped slightly in price.
