How to Keep Your Aegean Account Active<\/span><\/h2>\n

The simple answer to this is we don\u2019t know, and it is impossible to have a definitive answer.<\/p>\n

We have scoured the Aegean site, and there is no mention of how to keep your account active or what can make it go inactive. Multiple older data points online state that in order to keep your account active, you need to take a paid flight every 5 years\/60 months.<\/p>\n

This information is not in the Aegean terms and conditions<\/a>, so it is possible that it was an old requirement that has been removed. Or it is still a requirement that was never included in the terms and conditions in the first place. We assume it is the former.<\/p>\n

So, if you are going to use Aegean, keep this in mind. However, if you are spending more than 5 years between flights on the same airline, you are probably best served using a different loyalty program.<\/p>\n

Using Aegean Miles & Bonus Program<\/span><\/h2>\n

Although not as well known as some of the other major global carriers, Aegean Airlines is one of the unsung heroes of loyalty programs if you are looking for Star Alliance Gold status.<\/p>\n

To earn Star Alliance Gold, you need to earn as few as 36,000 miles in a year with a total of six segments on Aegean. This is not particularly difficult since you can earn up to a 200% mileage bonus if you fly with many partners in premium cabins.<\/p>\n

If you can't get those Aegean segments, then you need to earn a total of 105,000 miles — 35k to earn Silver and then another 70k to earn Gold.<\/p>\n
