The new JetBlue program changes will come into force in spring 2023. The new program includes new metrics to measure loyalty and status with the introduction of Mosaic tiles. From spring 2023, Mosiac Qualifying Points and Segments are heading into the sunset. From then on status will be tracked using Mosaic tiles. The earing of tiles is based purely on the dollar amount you spend with the airline or on its co-brand credit card. Tiles are earned as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Earn 1 tile for each $100 of qualifying spend with JetBlue. This includes flights, car rentals, hotels, cruises, activities and extras, vacation packages, and more.<\/li>\n<li>Receive 1 tile for every $1,000 of spending on a JetBlue credit card.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span id=\"Earlier_JetBlue_Rewards_Options\">Earlier JetBlue Rewards Options<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The new TrueBlue allows you to receive perks and benefits before you hit Mosaic status. After every 10 tiles members earn, TrueBlue members can choose a perk to enjoy. That means new members get to choose new perks after 10, 20, 30, and 40 tiles. However, things change after 50 tiles when members hit Mosaic level 1.<\/p>\n<p>For every 10 tiles, members can choose from one of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Priority security<\/strong>: Access expedited security when available.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Early boarding<\/strong>: Access group B boarding &#8212; except when traveling on Blue Basic fares.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Alcoholic drinks<\/strong>: receive your first beer, wine or liquor is free each flight, only available to travelers over 21.<\/li>\n<li><strong>5,000-point bonus<\/strong>: receive a 5,000-point bonus to boost your points balance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>JetBlue Vacations bonus<\/strong>: receive a one-time 2x points bonus on a JetBlue Vacations package.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span id=\"Changes_to_JetBlue_Mosaic_Levels\">Changes to JetBlue Mosaic Levels<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>JetBlue Mosaic status will now have 4 levels &#8212; one through four &#8212; each with a unique set of perks that have not been fully announced yet. Also, members will enjoy Signature Perks associated with that level.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Mosaic_level_1\">Mosaic level 1<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Earn Mosaic Level 1 after earning 50 tiles, getting you the following Signature Perks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First two checked bags free<\/li>\n<li>Dedicated check-in.<\/li>\n<li>Even More Space at check-in.<\/li>\n<li>Priority security<\/li>\n<li>Mosaic boarding.<\/li>\n<li>Same day switches<\/li>\n<li>Beer, wine & liquor.<\/li>\n<li>Complimentary upgrades using the Heathrow Express in London.<\/li>\n<li>Dedicated priority chat assistance and support line.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span id=\"Mosaic_level_2\">Mosaic level 2<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Earn Mosaic Level 2 after earning 100 tiles, and receive all the benefits of Mosaic 1 plus the following Signature Perk:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Even More Space:<\/strong> Select Even More Space seats for free at booking &#8212; giving you up to 7&#8243; more legroom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span id=\"Mosaic_level_3\">Mosaic level 3<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Earn Mosaic Level 3 after earning 150 tiles and receive all the benefits of Mosaic 1 and 2 plus the following Signature Perks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Receive 4 Move to Mint certificates giving you a complimentary upgrade to mint from any core seat.<\/li>\n<li>The number of certificates needed for an upgrade varies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span id=\"Mosaic_level_4\">Mosaic level 4<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Earn Mosaic Level 4 after earning 250 tiles and receive all the benefits of Mosaic 1, 2, and 3 plus the following Signature Perks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Receive 2 additional Move to Mint certificates.<\/li>\n<li>Receive credits that can be redeemed for Transfers between Manhattan and JFK or Newark (EWR) using BLADE Airport helicopter transfers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span id=\"New_Mosaic_Perks_You_Pick\">New Mosaic Perks You Pick<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>JetBlue is introducing a series of perks that you choose at different levels of Elite status. The Mosaic Perks You Pick is similar to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/airlines\/american-aadvantage\/loyalty-point-rewards-choices\/\" rel=\"noopener\">AA Elite Choice Rewards<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/airlines\/delta-skymiles\/delta-choice-benefits\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Delta Medallion Choice Benefits<\/a>, and the newly introduced <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/news\/alaska-atmos-rewards\/elite-status-changes\/?awid=homepage\" rel=\"noopener\">Elite Choice Benefits by Alaska<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Each time a TrueBlue member reaches a new Mosaic level, they can choose from one of the following Mosaic Perks You Pick benefits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Founders Card Blue Membership<\/strong>: receive a variety of business and lifestyle benefits (over 15) curated for Mosaic members.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pet Fee Waiver<\/strong>: take your pet onboard at no extra charge- this saves you up to $125 per flight.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Select JetBlue Card statement credit<\/strong>: receive a $99 statement credit on the <a data-ccid=\"29\" href=\"\/blog\/link\/TheJetBluePlusCard\" rel=\"noopener nofollow sponsored\">JetBlue Plus Card<\/a> or <a data-ccid=\"30\" href=\"\/blog\/link\/JetBlueBusinessCard\" rel=\"noopener nofollow sponsored\">JetBlue Business Card<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>20 Tile bonus<\/strong>: receive a 20-tile bonus; you can deposit it in your account to reach the next level faster or gift it to someone else.<\/li>\n<li><strong>15,000-point bonus<\/strong>: Receive a 15,000 TrueBlue point bonus to boost your balance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mint Suite Priority<\/strong>: receive priority access to Mint Suites on selected aircraft. This option will come into force later in 2023 and excludes Mint Studio.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Determining the best options will ultimately depend on your travel patterns and habits. AwardWallet members have leveraged their <a href=\"\/en\/point-mile-values\">TrueBlue points for an average of 1.4 cents per point<\/a>. Therefore 15,000 points would work out to $210 in value. However, if you take 5 round trips a year with your pet, that is 10 flights at a saving of $125 per flight. That adds up to a stunning $1,250 of value.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Co-brand_Credit_Card_Improvements\">Co-brand Credit Card Improvements<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>JetBlue is introduced new perks and befits to holders of select Barclays JetBlue credit cards, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Points Payback:<\/strong> Members can use points to pay themselves back for a purchase of $25 or more. Members can redeem points for purchases of up to $1,000 annually.<\/li>\n<li><a data-ccid=\"30\" href=\"\/blog\/link\/JetBlueBusinessCard\" rel=\"noopener nofollow sponsored\">JetBlue Business Card<\/a>: Cardholders are now eligible for Group A boarding on JetBlue-operated flights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span id=\"How_the_JetBlue_Program_Changes_Transition_Will_Work\">How the JetBlue Program Changes Transition Will Work<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Although JetBlue has not detailed exactly how it will transition, it has released some details. In spring 2023, Mosaic-Qualifying points and segments will be retired. Members will then be awarded tiles depending on their spending in 2023 and can choose any Perks You Pick they have earned.<\/p>\n<p>Mosaic members' status is determined by how much they spent in 2022 or 2023, whichever is greater. Once assigned a level, they can enjoy the corresponding Mosaic Signature Perks and make any Mosaic Perks You Pick they qualify for.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"How_the_new_Program_Stacks_Up\">How the new Program Stacks Up<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>At a quick glance, it is clear almost every non-elite TrueBlue traveler will be better off with the new program. JetBlue is breaking new ground here by providing perks and benefits to those travelers who have yet to earn or will not reach elite status.<\/p>\n<p>So, even infrequent travelers who only manage to earn 30 tiles a year can still receive something for their loyalty. This development is excellent and could shake things up in the loyalty market &#8212; and hopefully become a trendsetter.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Mosaic_Members\">Mosaic+ Members<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Although elite travelers will do well, Mosaic elites are doing less well with the program. The previous top tier Mosaic+ now has the same qualification requirements as Mosaic level 3. However, many of the perks and benefits, including BLADE Airport helicopter transfers, are now only available to Mosaic level 4 members.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Mosaic_Members_By_Number_of_Segments\">Mosaic Members By Number of Segments<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>TrueBlue Members who earned Mosaic by flying a lot on short hops and qualified by segments are disadvantaged by the new change. The number of segments becomes irrelevant in the new program. That means travelers will no longer be able to earn status by flying many cheaper, shorter routes.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, if you commute from Los Angeles to San Francisco, you can pick up cheap fare for as little as $49 one way.<\/p>\n<p><img data-aspectratio=\"750\/285\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-89991 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Meet-the-New-TrueBlue-1-300x114.png\" alt=\"JetBlue $49 flights\" width=\"750\" height=\"285\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Meet-the-New-TrueBlue-1-300x114.png 300w, https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Meet-the-New-TrueBlue-1-1024x389.png 1024w, https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Meet-the-New-TrueBlue-1-768x291.png 768w, https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Meet-the-New-TrueBlue-1.png 1415w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you can nail down 30 segments at this price, you can currently earn Mosaic status by spending $1,470. Unfortunately, this will not get you anywhere near Mosaic status after the new JetBlue program changes. Instead, you will only earn 14 tiles and need another 36 (another $3,600 of spending) to reach Mosaic. This devaluation is a colossal hit to segment-earning members, who may opt to reevaluate their relationship with JetBlue going forward.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Our_Take\">Our Take<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Overall the new changes to the JetBlue Mosaic program are a positive development. On the one hand, losing some perks for Mosaic members is a disappointment. However, the innovative introduction of benefits for non-elites could be a game changer and the start of a trend.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps even the new changes will make JetBlue an even more attractive proposition for the infrequent traveler &#8212; especially those who don't quite fly enough to hit elite status with any airline.
