Aeroplan's Singapore Airlines Award Space<\/span><\/h2>\n
Historically, Singapore Airlines has been relatively stingy about releasing premium cabin award space to partner airlines. The fact that Aeroplan even has access to a handful of these award seats should be a cause for celebration.<\/p>\n

These are coveted awards, so not every date will have award space. However, a good number of dates often do. Here's what we've found.<\/p>\n
East Coast<\/span><\/h3>\n
Singapore Airlines operates the world's longest flight between New York and Singapore. You used to be able to find plenty of availability through Aeroplan, especially if you booked as far out as the calendar allows<\/a>. However, both manually searching and using our favorite award search tool \u2014 Seats.aero<\/a> \u2014 we couldn't find a single seat on the nonstop between New York and Singapore, no matter which direction or fare class we searched.<\/p>\n
That said, Singapore Airlines operates a separate, fifth-freedom flight between New York (JFK) and Frankfurt (FRA), as well, which offers multiple award seats for booking (and at a fantastic price!):<\/p>\n

Travelers on the West Coast also enjoy the opportunity to book Singapore Airlines award flights via Aeroplan \u2014 with availability all the way to Singapore. For example, from Los Angeles (LAX), travelers can fly directly to Singapore for 60,000 Aeroplan points in economy. However, don't expect to find any business class availability.<\/p>\n

If you're already traveling outside the U.S., your options for using your Aeroplan points for a Singapore Airlines award explode.<\/p>\n
A quick, one-hour flight from Singapore (SIN) to Kuala Lumpur (KUL) will cost 8,000 Aeroplan points in economy or 20,000 in business:<\/p>\n

When To Book Singapore Airlines Awards Through Aeroplan vs. KrisFlyer<\/span><\/h2>\n
Singapore Airlines partners with nearly every transferable points currency, making it easy to accumulate and book Singapore Airlines awards through KrisFlyer. However, booking Singapore Airlines award flights through Aeroplan offers a few distinct advantages.<\/p>\n
Aeroplan offers a lower points cost<\/span><\/h3>\n
Aeroplan awards are priced based on the zones you fly between and the distance you travel. So, through Aeroplan, that flight from Singapore to London costs 80,000 points in business class.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, booking the same flight through Singapore Airlines' own award program would cost 108,500 miles \u2014 35% more! Plus, even searching more than eight months in advance, the business saver award is on a waitlist. If I really needed to book this flight, I'd pay 182,500 KrisFlyer miles for the business class award, which is more than double the current rate on Aeroplan.<\/p>\n

Compared to Singapore Airlines (and virtually every other airline award program), Aeroplan boasts an unbelievable list of airline partners. At last count, there were more than 50 airlines you could book with Aeroplan points<\/a>. Plus, these partners are available to mix and match on awards. Essentially, every destination imaginable is reachable with Aeroplan.<\/p>\n
Singapore Airlines serves many destinations and is a member of the Star Alliance<\/a>, just like Air Canada. However, Aeroplan's non-alliance partners expand the possible award route network beyond what KrisFlyer<\/a> can offer.<\/p>\n
How To Earn Aeroplan Points<\/span><\/h2>\n
Luckily, Aeroplan partners with multiple transferable points ecosystems. This broad accessibility means travelers can transfer points from multiple programs to book Singapore Airlines awards.<\/p>\n
