Always a traet when staying at their hotels & now using their Hilton HHonors for dining is fantastic!

A little disappointed that 1) didn't get any points for joining. 2) didn't get any points for a stay I booked with via an online service (Orbitz). 3) their partners started calling me directly on my cellphone. Not great experience so far..

HHonors has a decent program in that your rewards do not expire & roll over year after year. Other than that, Hilton has added another benefit level/tier thus requiring up to 35% more points for the same properties stayed at a year ago. In other words, your points became less valuable. Your earning/reward power was stripped down. For this reason...I'm joining Marriott.

poor program:

points are worth much less than Hyatt, Marriott, or SPG per equivalence

points expire, unlike other hotel programs

Just like Delta Airlines, points keep on getting devalued

Only plus is there are many Hilton brand hotels, but I always try to stay at other hotels since HH points are not even worth it

Not bad. Generally good experiences booking and checking in. I am a GOLD member and am easily able to secure upgrades and specials. Website is horribly slow though.

My absolute favorite hotel chain. There is at least one in every single town I go to. No blackout dates on reward points.

They blind you with the opportunities of points then completely nickle and dime those points to uselessness. Customer facing service is lacking. The back end service (hhonors desk) is pretty good. The process is frustrating. Get the customer service right to my face so I do not have to follow up every time.

After a year and diamond status, I am switching back to SPG. Better hotels, better service.

What i don't like about Hilton is that they always charge for everything. The same services are available at Mariott for free. Also they never mention that their points expire however if you ask them directly they tell you that points do expire:

As long as you keep your account active by recording at least one eligible point earning activity every 12 months, your HHonors points will not expire. However, should you go more than 12 months without recording any eligible activity, your account will be deactivated and your accumulated point balance will be forfeited.

To assist you in preventing your account from being deactivated, here are some easy ways to keep your account active:

§ Simply complete an eligible stay at any of more than 3,000 Hilton Family hotels worldwide at least once every 12 months

§ Earn HHonors points with our partners by renting a car, sending flowers, or shopping at a variety of premier retailers.

§ Enroll in a Hilton HHonors sponsored credit card and make purchases to accumulate HHonors points.

§ Purchase points online to keep your account open. HHonors point purchases must be made in increments of 1,000 points and every 1,000 points costs US$12.50 ($.0125 per point). Purchase a minimum of 10,000 HHonors points at one time and the cost is reduced to only $.01 per point!

If you are not active they remove you from the program, and your miles are forfeited. Customer service does not respond, over the phone or over email.

I never have any problems. Staff are courteous and always willing to help.
On around half the occasions I stay I get a free upgrade.
I usually stay at either the Embassy Suites of Hampton Inns.
On the rare occasion I have had any issue, it has been resolved within an hour or so

I stay in the Embassy Suites Hotel Caracas for a few days every other month. The points are NEVER credited without one or two missing stay requests. And then the amount is commonly wrong.

This is 2007....we have COMPUTERS now.., use them!

I am Platinum Elite member with nearly every major hotel chain in the country, spending around 250 nights annually in hotels. I am extremely unimpressed with the Hilton chain.

Failure to send me their card after I more than qualified for it, then they cancelled my account, never offering me the points that were mine to begin with when I called to see what was happening. I probably will never spend any appreciable time with this chain since they didn't try to make it right.

I will opt instead for Marriot, Holiday Inns, Best Western, Choice Hotels where they understand the importance of customers like myself who practically walk in the door at these other chains and say, "I'm home - got my room ready?"

Always get special treatment when checking in. Always upgrades as well.
Staff always friendly, no matter what country. I spend 50% of my time in Hotels, most of them at Hilton.
easy to make points, and easy to redeem points.
