The original Chicago Seminars is returning to the Holiday Inn Elk Grove Village from October 13–15, 2023 for yet another year. If you don't have your tickets yet, now's the time to register before ticket prices increase on September 18, 2023.
Even better, the next 20 AwardWallet readers to register for Chicago Seminars can use promo code AWARDWALLET to save $15 off the current ticket price. That drops the price to $160 for a weekend of learning about points and miles — including lunches and drinks during the conference, plus two free drinks at the Friday reception.
What Is Chicago Seminars?
Chicago Seminars is a volunteer-run, nonprofit points and miles conference held annually at the Holiday Inn Elk Grove Village. Since its founding in 2010, Chicago Seminars has showcased some of the brightest minds in the points and miles world. Topics range from the basics of getting started in points and miles all the way up to advanced manufactured spending techniques that you won't find published on blogs.
Sessions start the evening of Friday (October 13) and stretch through Sunday afternoon (October 15). During much of the conference, attendees have a choice between at least two different presentations. This year's diverse list of presenters includes speakers from some of the largest points and miles publications, topic specialists, and up-and-coming points and miles writers.
After paying for conference expenses, all remaining funds are donated to selected charities. Chicago Seminars' two very worthy charities for 2023 are Miles4Migrants and Airline Ambassadors International.
Let's be honest: The Holiday Inn Elk Grove Village isn't the draw of the event. However, the host hotel is close to Chicago O'Hare (ORD), includes a complimentary airport shuttle, and is relatively affordable. All of this is intentional to keep the costs of attending Chicago Seminars to a minimum, making the conference as accessible as possible.
Speaking of costs: Through September 18, Chicago Seminar 2023 tickets cost $175. AwardWallet readers can drop that to $160 by using promo code AWARDWALLET. Chicago Seminars attendees can book the host hotel for $129 per night. Unfortunately, you can't use points at the host hotel. However, you can book the nearby Category 1 Hyatt Place Chicago–Itasca for just 5,000 Hyatt points per night.

AwardWallet's Presence at Chicago Seminars 2023
AwardWallet has both supported and financially sponsored Chicago Seminars since its founding in 2010. And we will be playing an even more significant role this year. Joining me on the Chicago Seminars organizing committee this year is Award Travel 101 (AwardWallet's nearly 100,000-member-strong Facebook community) moderator Jackie Wisniewski.
Four AwardWallet folks will be presenting at this year's Chicago Seminars:
- Jackie Wisniewski (Award Travel 101 moderator)
- JT Genter (AwardWallet Editor-In-Chief)
- Ryan Smith (AwardWallet Senior Editor)
- Senitra Horbrook (AwardWallet Contributor)
AwardWallet is sponsoring Chicago Seminars again this year. In addition to offsetting some of the costs of running the event, we will continue the tradition of providing attendees with a coupon code for six months free of AwardWallet Plus.
Last, but certainly not least, AwardWallet co-founder and owner Alexi Vereschaga is planning to attend Chicago Seminars again this year. Swing by the AwardWallet table or catch Alexi at one of the happy hours to get your AwardWallet questions answered and/or suggestions heard.
Bottom Line

If you haven't registered yet, now's the time to do so before ticket prices increase on September 18. And if you're one of the next 20 to register, you can use promo code AWARDWALLET to save $15 off your registration. We look forward to seeing you in Chicago!
