Hyatt’s partnership with Mr & Mrs Smith has added hundreds of boutique properties to the World of Hyatt program since launching in April 2024. While that expansion creates new opportunities to redeem points, it also introduces a key difference: award pricing for these properties doesn’t follow Hyatt’s standard award chart.

Instead, rates are dynamic. Award pricing fluctuates with the cash cost of a stay, so you’ll often see prices “starting at,” with higher rates during peak periods.

Before you empty your World of Hyatt account on a stay at an eye-catching property (of which there are many), now is a good time to revisit what your Hyatt points are worth so you get fair value from your hard-earned rewards.

What Are World of Hyatt Points Worth Toward Mr & Mrs Smith Bookings?

The entire Mr & Mrs Smith portfolio has nearly 2,300 properties. But only 700 of those properties are available through World of Hyatt.

When the partnership was first announced, Hyatt didn’t specify how these awards would be priced. Now that properties are live, we know pricing is dynamic, so we analyzed real booking data from AwardWallet users to better understand the value.

Here's what we found.

The biggest takeaway is that you'll get a range of values from your Hyatt points on Mr & Mrs Smith stays. In our sample, values ranged from as low as 0.70¢ to as high as 1.77¢ per point — that's a significant spread.

The second key takeaway is the average: 1.29¢ per point. Notably, 40% of the sampled redemptions fell below that value. For context, AwardWallet users have extracted 2.19¢ apiece from their Hyatt points, which makes that 1.29¢ per point number look even worse — before considering that most properties were offering even less value for your redemptions.

That's doesn't mean you shouldn't redeem World of Hyatt points at Mr & Mrs Smith properties. But at the very least, pay close attention to what your points are worth on these stays. It's particularly worth remembering that for those with status, standard World of Hyatt elite benefits don’t apply at Mr & Mrs Smith properties.

How To Book Mr & Mrs Smith Stays Through Hyatt

Mr & Mrs Smith properties now show directly on Hyatt's website, and booking works the same way as reserving any other Hyatt stay. You can even filter out non-Mr & Mrs Smith properties.

Given a few quirks with the rollout, one of the best ways to find a participating Mr & Mrs Smith property is to open Hyatt's map view and filter by brand. You can access the Smith-specific map here.

After making a selection, proceed through the booking process like normal. It's that simple.

But again, it's worth checking what your Hyatt points are worth toward your property of choice. For example, a two-night stay at Kahani Paradise in Karnataka, India, costs 76,000 Hyatt points. Based on typical redemption values, that amount of points could be worth about $1,664.40.

Alternatively, paying for the same Green Suite with cash carries an all-in, nondiscounted cost of ~$1,153.72. In other words, this specific redemption only offers 1.52¢ per point.

Some properties, like the Kahani Paradise, offer discounts for Mr & Mrs Smith members. Saving 20% on the cash cost might be more appetizing than redeeming a boatload of Hyatt points for less than 2.19¢ apiece.

Topping Off Your World Of Hyatt Balance

While it's generally not a great idea to use your Hyatt points for Mr & Mrs Smith properties, Hyatt points are some of the most valuable hotel points out there.

The good news is that you can top off your balance with points transfers from a few transferable point currencies:

Final Thoughts

You can now redeem World of Hyatt points at several hundred Mr & Mrs Smith properties. While we always appreciate a new way to redeem points — especially our beloved Hyatt points — you'll want to check the math before burning thousands on a Mr & Mrs Smith stay.

In many cases, you may find better value by saving your points for traditional Hyatt award stays.
