Bilt Rewards — the program that launched as a way to earn points on rent payments — has continuously evolved and added new ways for members to maximize their rewards. In 2023, Bilt launched a partnership with Lyft letting members earn points on Lyft rides.
Now, Bilt has taken the partnership a step further — making Lyft the first rideshare service where members can pay with Bilt Points. But should you?
Here’s how to earn and redeem Bilt Points on Lyft rides, plus why you may want to think twice before cashing in your points this way.
Earning Bilt Points on Lyft Rides
Bilt members can earn up to 5x Bilt Points on Lyft rides. Here's how:
- 2x Bilt Points on Lyft rides as a Bilt Rewards member
- 3x additional Bilt Points on Lyft rides paid for with The Bilt Mastercard® (Must use the card 5 times each statement period to earn points)
- 3x points on dining
- 2x points on travel
- 1x points on rent payments without the transaction fee (up to 100,000 points each calendar year)
- 1x points on other purchases
Using Bilt Points for Lyft Rides
To get started, you’ll need to link your Bilt Rewards and Lyft accounts. You can do this in either app:
- In the Bilt app: Go to “Neighborhood” → “Rideshare”
- In the Lyft app: Navigate to “Profile” → “Rewards” → “Loyalty Rewards”
Note that Lyft only allows one linked rewards program at a time, so choosing Bilt means forfeiting other loyalty earning options, such as Hilton Honors points or Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles.
Once your accounts are connected, redeeming points is very easy. When booking a ride in the Lyft app, a “Points” button will appear in the bottom right corner. Tap it to cover part or all of the ride’s cost with Bilt Points.

If you don’t see this option, make sure your Lyft app is updated to version 2025.6 or later.

Bilt Points are worth approximately 0.7¢ each towards Lyft rides — far lower than the 2¢ apiece rate AwardWallet users typically redeem Bilt Points for.
While you're better of leveraging select Bilt transfer partners to extract greater value for your points, this new redemption option still adds flexibility for members who frequently use Lyft and want to save on the out-of-pocket expense of rideshare.

Bottom Line
Bilt continues to prioritize giving members more ways to earn and redeem rewards. While paying for Lyft rides with Bilt Points may not be the most valuable use of your points, it does offer another way to engage with the program — especially if you're a frequent Lyft rider.
