American Airlines' brand-new Dreamliners are all the rage, and now you can use AAdvantage miles to experience one — whether you want to sit in business class, economy, or, quite literally, take the captain’s seat. If you’ve got more miles than you know what to do with, you can bid for a chance to spend four hours in a 787 flight simulator, with a two-night stay in Dallas included.
Here’s what to know about this brand-new AAdvantage Vacations Experience.
Redeem American Airlines Miles for a Flight Simulator Experience, Hotel Stay
American Airlines has a neat partnership with Mastercard Priceless, letting AAdvantage members redeem miles for one-of-a-kind experiences. Every so often, new opportunities pop up — and today is one of those days.
Now up for auction is the chance to spend four hours in a 787 Dreamliner flight simulator alongside an experienced pilot. This package for two also includes a two-night stay at the Thompson Dallas by Hyatt and transportation between the hotel and American Airlines’ Robert L. Crandall Skyview Campus. The experience takes place between July 10 and July 12, 2025.
Bidding opened the morning of May 6 and will close at 12:59 AM EST on May 19, 2025. At the time of writing, the current bid stood at 600,000 AAdvantage miles. That’s a steep price that'll only go higher, but this is undoubtedly a memorable experience.

Stock up on American Airlines AAdvantage Miles
If we had to guess, anyone thinking about placing a bid is already sitting on a big stash of American Airlines miles. This experience won’t come cheap, after all. But if you need to top off your account to make a competitive bid, you’ve got a few options.
American Airlines doesn’t have a long list of transfer partners, but it does accept transfers from Marriott Bonvoy. If you’re flush with Marriott points you don’t plan to redeem for hotel stays, you can convert them to AAdvantage miles at a 3:1 ratio.
Other ways to earn miles include opening a co-branded American Airlines credit card and earning the welcome bonus or buying miles outright. You probably won’t be able to open a new card and earn the bonus in time for this auction, but buying miles is quick and easy. The catch is that AAdvantage miles are pricey when purchased, which could turn this “Priceless” experience into a costly one.
