Global Hotel Alliance (also known as GHA) just partnered with Blacklane. As a result of this partnership, you'll have access to special benefits when staying at participating properties and taking chauffeur-driven rides.

Here's what to know about this partnership — and how to unlock hotel elite status faster than the blink of an eye

GHA Partners With Blacklane, Launches Status Fast Track

On May 6, 2026, GHA and Blacklane issued a joint press release announcing that the two luxury-focused brands would partner to offer more benefits to travelers seeking an elevated experience.

In short, reciprocal benefits are on the table. And they look like this:

  • GHA Discovery members will unlock lifestyle benefits when using Blacklane's chauffeur services in over 500 cities worldwide. Benefits include complimentary gift vouchers and “added value” on Blacklane bookings.
  • Blacklane guests can accelerate their status within the GHA Discovery program and receive gifts of Discovery Dollars (D$) that can be used for stays and participating restaurants.

Per the press release, these benefits are expected to become available starting May 8, 2026. However, you can get a head start on the accelerated status opportunity even before then.

If you've got a Blacklane account, you should check your inbox. That's because Blacklane has started sending out emails with the subject line “A new partnership to enhance your journey.”

This email is the key to unlocking GHA Discovery status at warp speed. Simply by clicking the blue “Activate your benefits” button, you'll get complimentary GHA Discovery Gold status through December 31, 2027.

After clicking that button, GHA will prompt you to log in to your loyalty account or create one for the first time. From there, your account status should update automatically.

Ordinarily, you'd earn GHA Discovery Gold status after completing two stays or spending $1,000 on eligible rates and purchases. So, this is a shortcut to a handful of useful benefits, including:

  • 5% back in Discovery Dollars (D$) — GHA's rewards currency
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi
  • Access to member-only rates
  • And more

These benefits might not otherwise be worth going out of your way for, but since you can unlock them for free without completing stays or spending extra money, it's worth taking a second to activate the offer if you were targeted.

If you weren't targeted, try taking a second to create a Blacklane account. This could possibly trigger an email with a special link to register for the offer.

Per the terms and conditions, there's currently no published end date for this promotion, though you'll probably want to activate sooner rather than later just in case it's pulled unexpectedly.

Bottom Line

If you don't already have GHA Discovery Gold status and could use the benefits, there's a likely limited-time instant status opportunity courtesy of GHA's new partnership with Blacklane. Beyond the instant status, the partnership will also introduce reciprocal benefits beginning May 8, 2026. So, if these are two brands you already use during your travels, this new partnership could come in handy down the line.
