As with all of Citi's transfer partners, your transfer ratio will depend on which card you hold:
- If you hold a card that charges an annual fee, including the Citi Strata Elite℠ Card or Citi Strata Premier® Card, you can transfer at a 1:1 ratio.
- If you hold a no-annual-fee card, including the Citi Strata℠ Card or Citi Double Cash® Card, you will transfer at a 1:0.7 ratio.
Citi ThankYou Points are the first credit card currency to partner with Copa Airlines.
Should You Transfer Citi ThankYou Points to Copa ConnectMiles?
Copa ConnectMiles might not be the most popular airline
What makes Copa extra special is that it still uses a zone-based award chart. It offers two types of awards: saver, which are more affordable but have limited availability, and standard, which have greater availability but cost more.
Saver awards are available on flights operated by Copa Airlines, Copa Airlines Colombia, any Star Alliance carrier, and other partner airlines, including Azul, Gol, Emirates, and KLM. Standard awards are available on flights operated by Copa Airlines, Copa Airlines Colombia, and United.
Star Alliance partners should follow the same award charts we share below. Copa offers a PDF listing regions worldwide, but not all of these regions are included in the award charts. If you plan to book United-operated flights to Europe through Copa Airlines, you might need to do a few searches to know how many miles you'll need.

Wingo redemptions
You can also use Copa ConnectMiles on Wingo-operated flights, a Bogotá-based low-cost carrier. Here's how you can use your miles:
- Redeem 5,000 miles, get a 100,000 COP voucher (~$32)
- Redeem 10,000 miles, get a 260,000 COP voucher (~$82)
- Redeem 15,000 miles, get a 460,000 COP voucher (~$146)
For this redemption method, you'll need to contact the Copa call center, and it'll take one to three business days to receive your voucher. However, this is likely not the best use of your miles.
Bottom Line
Copa ConnectMiles is clearly trying to attract more U.S. travelers. If you never had a way to earn Copa ConnectMiles apart from flying, you likely would avoid the airline and opt for one with a familiar loyalty program. However, now that Copa has partnered with both Rove and Citi, it will likely be on your radar when you're ready to book your next Star Alliance flight.
