Air Canada is offering Aeroplan members several promotions for Aeroplan's 40th anniversary, including 40 members winning 1 million points. Sixteen other promotions include several 40% bonuses, 20% points back on hotels, car rentals, gift cards, and a whole lot more. Here are the details of all these promotions.

Air Canada Aeroplan 40th Anniversary Promotions
The Aeroplan loyalty program turns 40 this year. In addition to other current Aeroplan promotions, Air Canada is offering 17 promotions for its Aeroplan anniversary, a.k.a. Aeroplan-niversary, including a chance for 40 members to win 1 million points each.
These promotions, unless otherwise stated, run from July 8 through July 17, 2024.
Enter to win 1 million Aeroplan points
The first 40th anniversary Aeroplan offer is a sweepstakes, listed as a contest, to win 1 million points. No purchase is necessary for this contest. All members must do is fill out this form with their membership number. Simply consent to the contest rules and regulations and for Aeroplan to use your personal information for the contest. Air Canada will draw 40 winners.
Members unable to register online can submit an entry by mail. Include a 50-word essay on how you have enjoyed rewards with the Aeroplan program over the years, along with your name, address, e-mail address, phone number, and Aeroplan number. Address the entry to Aeroplan Inc, a/0 Aeroplan-niversary Contest, 525 Viger West, suite 1000, Montreal, Qc, H2Z 0B2.
Aeroplan Elite Status members automatically get a second entry to the contest, regardless of their method of entry or specific tier status. No other entries are valid for any Aeroplan member; the maximum number of entries is 2.
The prize draw will occur on July 27, 2024. Aeroplan will contact the winners, who must confirm acceptance within 3 days. The odds of winning depend on the number of entries. Air Canada considers 1 million Aeroplan points to have a value of 30,000 CDN for this contest.
This contest is only open to Canadian residents of legal age, although it appears anyone can fill out the form to enter.
Air Canada/Travel promotions
- 20% points back on hotels and car rentals: Redeem 20,000 or more points on a hotel stay or car rental and get 20% points back. Book by July 17 and travel by December 31, 2024.
- 40% bonus points on flights and vacation packages: Earn 40% bonus points back when booking an eligible flight or vacation package by July 17, 2024. Eligible for travel between August 15 and December 15, 2024.
- 4,000 bonus points on select Flight Passes: Buy a Sun or Weekend Flight pass by July 17 and get 4,000 bonus points.
- 400 bonus status qualifying miles on eligible flights: Book an eligible round trip or 2 one-way trips and get 400 bonus status qualifying miles. Valid on up to 10 flights for a total of 4,000 bonus status qualifying miles. Book by July 17 and travel by September 30, 2024. Valid on all fares and flights within the Air Canada network.
- Buy Aeroplan points with up to a 125% bonus: Purchase Aeroplan points between July 8 and July 11 with a 125% bonus. After that, purchase Aeroplan points between July 12 and July 19 with a 100% bonus.
- 40% bonus points when converting Accor points: Convert ALL points to Aeroplan points with a 40% bonus. Not valid when converting points from any other hotel loyalty program.
- 4X bonus points with Air Canada gift cards: Purchase $500 or more in Air Canada gift cards and earn 4 bonus points per dollar. Members can purchase cards up to $2,000 at a time. This offer is valid on up to $10,000 in gift cards.
Shopping promotions
- 20% points back on gift cards: Redeem 20,000 or more points on gift cards and merchandise through the Aeroplan eStore and get 20% points back. Valid through July 17, 2024.
- 10X points in the eStore: Earn 10X points with eligible retailers in the Aeroplan eStore. Examples of retailers are Dyson, Gap, Lululemon, Sephora, and Wayfair.
Credit card promotions
- 40% more points with an Aeroplan credit card: Earn 40% more points on eligible purchases with an Aeroplan credit card between July 14 and July 17.
- 40% bonus points for first-time Aeroplan credit cardholders: Apply for a new Aeroplan credit card by July 17, and earn 40% bonus points on up to $40,000 in eligible purchases.
Partner promotions
- Up to 6X points on Avis and Budget rentals: Book a car rental with Avis or Budget by July 17 with up to 30% in savings, and earn 6 total points per dollar. Valid on qualifying rentals in the U.S. and Canada. Members earn 2 bonus points per dollar in addition to the 4 base points per dollar normally earned on car rentals, excluding taxes, fees, and surcharges. Complete the rental by December 15, 2024. Blackout dates apply.
- Up to 70,000 points with Bell: Switch to Bell by July 17 and earn up to 70,000 bonus points when you sign up for mobile and internet plans. Residential plans are only available in Ontario and Quebec.
- 40 points on your next Starbucks order: Use a linked Starbucks Rewards account to order a Starbucks beverage by July 17 and receive 40 Aeroplan points. Valid on all Starbucks locations in Canada.
- 40 points with Uber and Uber Eats orders: Earn 40 bonus points on eligible Uber rides, Uber Eats orders over $40, and grocery delivery orders through July 17, 2024.
- 40 points with Journie Rewards: Link your Journie Rewards account and get 40 bonus points when filling up with 30 or more liters. Plus, get 40 bonus points on eligible purchases of $10 or more in the store. Valid through July 17, 2024.
- 40 points at the LCBO: Earn 40 bonus points for every $80 spent at LCBO stores through July 17, 2024.
General terms and conditions
- Members will receive bonus points within 6-10 weeks of completing individual requirements.
- Unless otherwise stated, bonus points do not count as status-qualifying miles.
- Most offers end on July 17, 2024.
- You must be an Aeroplan member in good standing to participate in these promotions.
