American Airlines AAdvantage members have a short opportunity to earn a huge number of miles on American Airlines Cruises. Members can earn double miles and up to 200,000 bonus miles per cruise, on top of additional benefits and discounts. Plus, you'll earn Loyalty Points toward AA elite status along the way. Here are the details of American Airlines Cruises and this promotion.
American Airlines Cruises
American Airlines has its own cruise booking portal, just like United Cruises, Delta Cruises, and Virgin Cruises. And just like Delta and United, American Airlines Cruises is powered by World Travel Holdings, offering essentially the same cruises from the same 21 cruise providers. Each portal offers a 110% refund for the price difference if you find a better deal elsewhere, the usual cruise benefits, and bonus miles. The main difference with American Airlines Cruises is you learn AAdvantage miles instead of SkyMiles or MileagePlus Miles.
The base fare (before taxes) on AA's cruise portal also qualifies for earning Loyalty Points, as well.
Double Miles for American Airlines Credit Cardholders
Normally, AAdvantage members earn 1 mile per dollar spent on cruises booked through American Airlines Cruises. However, American Airlines credit cardholders earn double miles (2 miles per dollar spent). Members must book the cruise before December 31, 2023 and depart by December 31, 2025. Make sure to use your AAdvantage credit card when booking the cruise and provide your AAdvantage membership number.

Our Take
Getting 100,000 or 200,000 bonus miles with this promotion is unlikely. Only higher-priced balcony stateroom and suite bookings are eligible, and only a very select number of cruises are eligible for the better bonuses in the offer. But if you are planning to take a cruise in the next couple of years, can book this month, and want to increase your AAdvantage miles, this is a good promotion for you.
Whether you regularly take cruises or want to sail your first, this is a good promotion to earn some bonus AAdvantage miles. At base, you'll likely get the same deal regardless of which booking platform you use. The difference is what kind of miles you're going to earn and how many. Recently, MileagePlus members could earn up to 60,000 bonus miles with United Cruises, but that offer has expired. These are the best-available bonuses for cruise bookings this month.
