American Airlines partners with several major rental car companies, giving AAdvantage members another way to earn miles and
When you book a qualifying Avis or Budget rental, enter the applicable discount number and provide your AAdvantage number. You'll earn miles and Loyalty Points based on your rental spending. Standard AAdvantage members earn 2 miles and Loyalty Points per $1 spent, while eligible AAdvantage credit cardholders and elite members earn even more.
Save up to 35% and earn up to 1,000 bonus AAdvantage miles
Through November 30, 2026, AAdvantage members can receive:
- Up to 35% off Avis base rates using AWD K817113
- Up to 30% off Budget base rates using BCD U072404
- 500 bonus AAdvantage miles on qualifying rentals lasting three or four consecutive days
- 1,000 bonus AAdvantage miles on qualifying rentals lasting five or more consecutive days
The bonus applies at participating Avis and Budget airport locations in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

If your credit card and elite status qualify you for different earning rates, you'll receive the higher rate. However, the 500 or 1,000 promotional bonus miles don't count as Loyalty Points.
Key terms

- A $1.50-per-day frequent traveler surcharge applies when earning airline miles.
- Allow six to eight weeks for the bonus miles to post.
Our Take
This isn't the most generous American Airlines rental promotion we've seen, but it's an easy opportunity to stack a rental discount with extra AAdvantage miles if you were planning to rent from Avis or Budget anyway.
The 500- or 1,000-mile bonus alone isn't likely to sway your booking decision. However, if the discounted rate is competitive after factoring in the $1.50-per-day frequent traveler surcharge, this promotion can provide a useful boost toward your next AAdvantage redemption. You'll also earn base miles and Loyalty Points on qualifying rental spending, although the promotional bonus miles don't count toward elite status.
