American Express has recently “enhanced” several cards with new Resy dining credits — typically in exchange for higher annual fees. If you carry one of these Amex cards, you now need to utilize this Resy credit to get the most out of your card.
So, which Amex cards offer Resy credits? And how can you use it to save money the next time you dine out? Here's everything you need to know about Amex Resy credits.

What Is Resy?
Resy is an online platform for searching for restaurants and making reservations. This easy-to-use service can introduce you to top-rated or up-and-coming restaurants in your neighborhood or wherever you happen to be traveling.
In 2019, American Express acquired Resy, which explains the coziness between the issuer and the service. The acquisition also explains these new-fangled credits on a couple of Amex cards that might be in your wallet.

Which Amex Cards Offer Resy Credits?
Lots of Amex cards have Resy dining credits nowadays. The issuer has made it a point to add these credits as new benefits when it brings in a card for a refresh. But to keep things simple, here's the complete list of Amex cards that have Resy credits, plus the denominations each one offers:
- American Express® Gold Card: Up to $100 Resy credit (available as $50 semi-annually).
- Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card: Up to $120 Resy credit (available as $10 per month).
- Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card: Up to $240 Resy credit (available as $20 per month).
- Delta SkyMiles® Platinum Business American Express Card: Up to $120 Resy credit (available as $10 per month).
- Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card: Up to $240 Resy credit (available as $20 per month).
Note that for each card, enrollment for the Resy dining credit benefit is required. Without enrolling, you won't receive your statement credits.

How Do You Use Amex Resy Credits?
We'll mention it again because it's important. As soon as you get your new Amex card in the mail, register for all the benefits that require enrollment — Resy credits included. This simple step ensures you get money back when you visit a Resy establishment or make an eligible purchase — up to your allotted amount. You should also add your card to your online Resy profile via the Resy app or website.
Once you've enrolled, the next step is visiting a Resy restaurant in the United States and using your Amex card to pay. Since most eligible restaurants are popular or noteworthy, you might find value in making a reservation online. It won't cost you anything extra, and Resy's website and app make this a quick task.
Provided your purchase was eligible, Amex notes that you can expect to receive your statement credits within eight weeks. Though, in personal experience, Resy statement credits post much faster than that.

Which purchases are eligible for the Amex Resy dining credits?
Generally speaking, if you make a purchase with your eligible, enrolled Amex card at a U.S.-located establishment listed on the Resy website or in the Resy app, it'll count toward your credit amount. However, there are two points of interest in the benefit terms and conditions to pay attention to:
- Purchases made via Resy Pay, purchases of Resy OS restaurant management software, and Resy-branded American Express Gift Cards are not eligible.
- Gift cards purchased at restaurants may not receive the statement credit.
In other words, if you dine out and use your Amex card to pay, you'll be fine. But if you try to purchase restaurant management software or gift cards, you won't trigger your card's Resy credit.
Final Thoughts
Depending on who you ask, Amex Resy credits might not get a lot of love. After all, once you enroll, you have to remember to use your Resy credits every month or semi-annually to unlock their full value. Forgetting about these credits means leaving value on the (dinner) table.
But to others, Amex Resy credits are invaluable additions to the five cards we listed. If you dine out at establishments live on the Resy website, the Amex Resy credits can help you save on the cost of your meal. They're easy to use and it's hard to argue with saving money on things you'll already pay for.
