In just two weeks, Frequent Traveler University (FTU) is hosting a three-day points and miles conference in Dallas. Over two full days of sessions (May 3-4), you'll learn from two dozen points and miles experts covering a wide range of topics.

Plus, if you've ever wanted to meet the AwardWallet Blog team, good news: AwardWallet senior writer and editor Tyler Glatt and I will be in DFW for the event. In addition to catching up with us between sessions, you can attend sessions led by me and several other AwardWallet contributors — including Carissa Rawson and Miguel Rueda.

Want to join us? Here’s the link to register for the conference. Use promo code BIGHATSAVE20 (a nod to the big hats of Texas) to get $20 off your registration.

What is FTU?

Frequent Traveler University (FTU) is a series of community-run points and miles education events hosted by the non-profit Frequent Traveler Education Foundation. Designed to help both newcomers and seasoned travelers, FTU brings together experts and enthusiasts to share strategies for maximizing loyalty programs, award redemptions, elite status, and more.

In addition to hosting online seminars most months, FTU typically organizes one-day, single-track in-person events in cities across the U.S. These regional meetups offer a deep dive into the latest trends in travel rewards and provide hands-on learning in an in-person setting. However, FTU Dallas is designed to be a much-larger nationwide version of the typical FTU event.

FTU Dallas Details

Instead of learning from just a handful of presenters, FTU Dallas brings together two dozen points and miles experts for two jam-packed days of sessions. Events will kick off with an open-bar networking event on Friday, May 2. Then, sessions start at 9 am Saturday morning (May 3) and run through 3 pm on Sunday (May 4).

In true AvGeek style, FTU Dallas will take place at the Hyatt Regency DFW — located right on the DFW airport property. DFW has nonstop flights to almost 200 domestic destinations, meaning you can likely fly nonstop to and from the event.

FTU Dallas sessions

For most sessions, you'll choose between two presentations — one in the main room and another in a breakout room. Sessions range from beginner-friendly overviews (including one led by my wife Katie) to deep dives into points and miles topics, plus niche sessions on topics like the Frontier GoWild! pass, casino loyalty programs, and using points and miles at Disney. Whether you're new to points and miles or earning and burning for years, there should be something here for everyone.
