Marriott's annual promotion is back, offering Bonvoy members bonus points with co-branded credit card spending. It's also available again with cards from both Amex and Chase, offering up to 10,200 bonus points after spending at least $7,000 between July 18 and September 21, 2024 — including 200 bonus points just for registering for this promotion.
This is quite a large amount to spend in two months, but it might appeal to some Marriott cardholders. Although this isn't a targeted promotion, you must register by August 1.
Earn 10,200 Bonus Marriott Points After Spending $7,000
This offer has been around for a couple of years, and it gets a little better each year. Last year, Chase cards were added to the offer. This year, members get 200 points just for registering. Simply go to the promotion landing page and register your eligible Marriott co-branded card.
After enrolling in this promotion, cardholders will earn 10,000 bonus points after spending $7,000 between July 18 and September 21, 2024. This promotion essentially gives members 1.43 additional bonus points per dollar spent… as long as you spend the $7,000 after registration and before the deadline.
AwardWallet readers typically redeem Marriott Bonvoy points at 0.94¢, so this promotion is essentially netting you nearly $100 in points from $7,000 in spending.
Unfortunately, this promotion doesn't count cumulative spending across cards. All spending to the $7,000 threshold must be on the same card. However, members have the option of applying this promotion to separate cards and earning 10,000 bonus points more than once. But you'll still need to spend $7,000 on each card.
If you happen to have multiple cards you can register with for this promotion, you should earn 200 bonus points just for registering each card.

Our Take
In 2022, this promotion gave members 7,500 bonus points on $7,500 of spending — 1 bonus point per $1 spent with a pretty high minimum threshold. And that offer only applied to Marriott Bonvoy cards from American Express. In 2023, the promotion got a little better with a slightly lower threshold and almost 50% more bonus points, plus the inclusion of Chase cards. This year, the promotion excludes a few previously eligible cards — but adds 200 bonus points just for registering a card.
Nevertheless, I can only see this as a decent promotion for those already planning to spend $7,000 on their Marriott credit card in the next few weeks. That's because it's not a large bonus — only a little more than 1 additional point per dollar — and you'll need significant spending to earn the bonus. The best way to maximize your earnings would be spending on your card's bonus categories, such as Marriott Bonvoy stays.
If you need more Bonvoy points, check out other Marriott promotions where you can earn up to 10,000 bonus points on a single stay. There's a good chance that stay will cost less than $7,000!
