AwardWallet receives compensation from advertising partners for links on the blog. The opinions expressed here are our own and have not been reviewed, provided, or approved by any bank advertiser. Here's our complete list of Advertisers.
With so many changes in the points and miles world — and more readers than ever turning to us for guidance — we thought it was time to give you a transparent look behind the scenes.
The AwardWallet Blog is free to read… but it’s not free to run. Between breaking points and miles news, writing deep-dive guides, and keeping our loyalty program content accurate, our team of points and miles experts spend thousands of hours each year keeping the content flowing. So how do we fund it?
Here’s how we make money — and how you can support what we do.
Credit Card Affiliate Links
Credit card affiliate links are our primary source of revenue. We include affiliate links to credit cards in many of our posts and on the right sidebar of the blog. If you click one of those links and are approved, we may earn a commission from the bank. There’s no extra cost to you, and your support helps us keep the blog running.
We never let commissions dictate our editorial coverage. Our top priority is helping you make informed decisions, whether or not we make money from a particular link. That includes a commitment to sharing the best publicly available credit card offers — even when that means linking to a non-monetized offer instead of an affiliate link.
And there are plenty of cards we write about that don’t earn us anything. If you're curious about our current list of partners, we share the full list on our advertiser disclosure page.
Non-Card Affiliate Revenue
In addition to credit cards, we earn commissions when readers:
- Buy points or miles through a loyalty program promotion
- Book travel through a partner
- Sign up for services we’ve reviewed
These commissions are generally much smaller, but they help cover the costs of maintaining evergreen content, updating deal posts, and keeping guides accurate as program terms evolve.
Display Ads
We run a limited number of display ads on the blog. These don’t earn much on their own, but they help us offset basic expenses like hosting, software, and site maintenance.
The best way to eliminate ads is to be logged into your AwardWallet account (so we don't remind you to sign up for an account). Even better, AwardWallet Plus subscribers can completely eliminate display ads by disabling them in your user settings.
AwardWallet Plus Subscriptions
Some readers support us directly by upgrading to AwardWallet Plus. While these subscriptions primarily fund the development of the AwardWallet app and tracking platform, they also support content creation.
Whether you signed up to track more accounts or just wanted to back a tool you find useful — thank you. It truly helps.
How You Can Support Us
If you find our content helpful, here are a few simple ways you can support the blog:
- Apply for a card through our links if you’re planning to get one anyway.
- Use our affiliate links when buying points or booking travel.
- Upgrade to AwardWallet Plus, especially if you can benefit from the extra perks.
- Share our content with friends, family, or in forums.
Even small actions can make a big difference in helping us expand our editorial team and coverage.
Why We’re Sharing This
We believe transparency builds trust. The points and miles world can be murky, and some sites prioritize revenue or the latest outrage story of the day over providing reader value. That’s not our approach.
We aim to write the kind of content we’d want to read: Timely loyalty program updates, practical how-tos, promotions to grow your points balances, and honest takes on loyalty programs. We hope this post shows you how we keep that going — and why your support matters.
Thanks for reading and for being part of the AwardWallet community.
