Register to Earn 3X American Airlines AAdvantage Miles on Paid IHG Stays Through Early July

It’s now a good bit more rewarding to earn American Airlines AAdvantage miles on your next slate of stays at an IHG property. Through July 6, 2026, registered IHG One Rewards members can earn an uncapped 3X AAdvantage miles on new bookings.

Here’s what to know about this offer and how to register.

Earn 3X AAdvantage Miles on IHG Stays

A couple of times a year, IHG One Rewards runs a promotion for members who choose to earn American Airlines AAdvantage miles on their stays instead of IHG points. And through July 6, 2026, you can earn 3X miles per $1 spent on stays at IHG.

Ordinarily, you’ll earn 2X miles per $1 spent on qualifying room rates at all IHG Hotels & Resorts properties, with the exception of Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites, which earn 1X mile per $1 spent. That makes this offer a good reason to switch your earning preference for the time being.

Note that you’ll also need to change your earning preference from IHG One Rewards points to AAdvantage miles to participate in this offer.

To do this, head to your IHG preferences, select “Airline Miles/Partner Points” in the earning preferences section, and then choose “American Airlines AAdvantage” as your preferred airline program. This also means you can’t double dip; you’ll need to choose between IHG points or airline miles.

Through July 6, 2026, IHG One Rewards is boosting the number of American Airlines AAdvantage miles you can earn on stays across its brands, from 1X or 2X per $1 spent up to 3X.

Whether you should take advantage of this offer (pun intended) depends on a couple of things, but primarily on whether you value AAdvantage miles more than IHG One Rewards points. You can get solid return from both if you’re strategic in how you redeem, but if you’re already flush with IHG points, it could make sense to switch your earning preference for the time being.
