Marriott and United Airlines launched a promotion that'll award bonus Marriott Bonvoy points on United flights and bonus United MileagePlus miles on Marriott stays. This offer is an extension of Marriott's and United's Preferred Partnership, but you'll need to register for this promotion even if you've previously linked your Marriott and United accounts.

Here's all you need to know about this limited-time dual currency promotion.

Marriott and United Promotion for Elite Members

If you hold Marriott Bonvoy Titanium or Ambassador Elite, or United Premier Gold, Platinum, or 1K, you can take part in this dual currency promotion. It's an easy way to earn bonus rewards on travel you're already going to complete.

To participate in this promotion, you'll need to enroll in the preferred partnership (if you haven't already) and register for the offer. You can do either or both by clicking here.

Just note that registration ends August 31, 2026, so it's worth taking this step now even if you're not sure you'll take advantage of the offer.

What rewards can you earn with this promotion?

This promotion offers linked members 2,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points and 1,500 bonus United Airlines MileagePlus miles for each qualifying stay of one night or more and flight completed between July 15 and September 30, 2026.

If you register by August 31, 2026, then complete both a qualifying flight and a qualifying hotel stay during the promotion period, you'll earn 2,000 Marriott points and 1,500 United miles. Complete another eligible flight and stay, and you'll earn the bonus again.

Per the terms and conditions, there's no limit to the number of bonus points and miles you can earn through this offer. However, eligible flights and stays must be completed in pairs. In short, both must be paid bookings — not award bookings or cash-plus-points/miles reservations.

It's also worth noting that if you complete two eligible stays but only one eligible flight, you'll only earn the bonus for the first stay-and-flight pair until you complete a second qualifying flight.

Key terms

At a high level, here are the key terms and conditions.

  • Open to Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite and Ambassador Elite members, plus United MileagePlus Premier Gold, Premier Platinum, and Premier 1K members enrolled in the Preferred Partnership.
You must enroll in the Preferred Partnership and register for the promotion by August 31, 2026.
  • Eligible travel must be completed between July 15 and September 30, 2026.
  • Both the flight and hotel stay must be paid with cash. Award bookings and cash-plus-points/miles bookings do not qualify.
  • Eligible flights and stays must be completed in pairs. Extra flights or extra stays won't earn a bonus until they're matched with the corresponding qualifying activity.
  • There's no limit to the number of bonus points and miles you can earn.
  • Your Marriott Bonvoy account must be set to earn Marriott Bonvoy points, not airline miles.
  • Members can only participate in one Marriott/United dual currency promotion in 2026.
  • Allow up to 12 weeks after the promotion ends for bonus points and miles to post.

Final Thoughts

If you're looking to earn more United miles and Marriott points this year, this “Stay, Fly, and Earn” promotion is worth registering for if you're eligible. While it's only valid on new bookings made after registration, there's a good opportunity to stack the rewards if you have enough travel planned. Just be sure to register by August 31, 2026, so you don't miss out.
