This Hilton resort credit is more valuable than meets the eye. It can cover a wide range of charges at Hilton resort properties — from room rates to transfer fees and even spa services. However, you can only utilize this credit at eligible resorts.

Here's what you need to know about the Hilton Aspire resort credit and your options for using it.

Hilton Aspire Resort Credit List of Qualifying Resorts

The Hilton Aspire resort credit will not work at every property — or even at all locations with “resort” in the name or that fall under the “resort” hotel type. While more than 300 Hilton properties are eligible, you should confirm whether or not the property you plan on staying at will support the $400 credit before traveling to avoid any disappointment.

If a resort isn't expressly mentioned on the list, your credit won't apply. Just because a property might call itself a resort — or apply resort-like policies — doesn't mean it qualifies if it's not on the list.

Hilton’s terms specifically exclude Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties from the Aspire resort credit, even when those stays are booked through Hilton.

What Can the Hilton Aspire Resort Credit Be Used For?

The Hilton Aspire resort credit can cover a wide range of eligible charges at participating resorts, including room rates and many incidentals. For incidentals — such as dining, spa treatments, excursions, or other on-property charges — the safest approach is to charge the purchase to your room and pay the final folio with your Hilton Aspire.

The Hilton Aspire resort credit can cover the following items:

• Food and beverages
• Spa experiences
• Excursions
• Room upgrades paid directly to the resort

There are so many ways to take advantage of the resort credit. What room rates are eligible?

The Hilton Aspire resort credit can cover room rates that aren't prepaid or advance rates. The eligible rate will be the “Best Available Rate” in most cases. Also, special rates and discounts for extended stays qualify for the credit. As an example, take the Shore House at The Del:

When you go through the booking process and arrive at the “Select a Rate” page, you'll see several available options:

If you book directly with Hilton at a participating resort, choose a rate that isn’t Advance Purchase or Non-Refundable, and pay the property directly with your Hilton Aspire, your room rate should qualify for the resort credit.

How to Use the Hilton Aspire Resort Credit

Taking advantage of the Hilton Aspire resort credit is very simple. Just charge the eligible purchase to your room and settle the bill with your Hilton Aspire at an eligible resort to trigger the statement credit.

Thankfully, Hilton doesn't make it any more complicated than that. There's no minimum purchase required, and you don't need to enroll for this particular card benefit in advance.

When will the resort credit post to my card statement?

American Express says you should allow 8–12 weeks for the credit to appear on your statement. However, the credit will likely post within 1-2 weeks after you make an eligible purchase.

If the credit doesn't post quickly, note that Amex reps are likely to cite the 8-12-week timeframe mentioned in the terms and conditions if you were to contact them. So, you'll need to wait until after the 12-week mark to contact American Express by calling the phone number on your Hilton Aspire card.

Since this is a statement credit, it only applies against eligible charges. You won't receive it as a discount at the time of payment. Also, you'll only receive credits equal to the amount you actually spend — up to the $400 yearly maximum.
