The Hilton Aspire commands a hefty $550 annual fee, but the card has an incredible list of benefits. These benefits include up to $400 in yearly Hilton Aspire resort credit as well as top-tier Hilton Diamond status.

These two perks alone can make the card a valuable long-term keeper for anyone who stays at Hilton Honors properties at least a few times each year — even before you factor in the long list of other benefits. Enrollment is required for select Amex benefits.

This Hilton resort credit is more valuable than meets the eye. It can cover a wide range of charges at Hilton resort properties — from room rates to transfer fees and even spa services. However, you can only utilize this credit at eligible resorts, and Hilton recently shrunk this list of qualifying resorts.

Hilton Aspire Resort Credit List of Qualifying Resorts

The Hilton Aspire resort credit will not work at every property — or even at all locations with “resort” in the name or that fall under the “resort” hotel type. While more than 250 Hilton properties are eligible, you should confirm whether or not the property you plan on staying at will support the $400 credit before traveling to avoid any disappointment.

If a resort isn't expressly mentioned on the list, your credit won't apply. For example, even though Hilton Club The Bay Forest Odawara and the Conrad Las Vegas are considered resorts, they aren't on the list. Thus, you can't leverage your Hilton Aspire resort credit at either place.

What Can the Hilton Aspire Resort Credit Be Used For?

The Hilton Aspire resort credit is extremely versatile. You can receive up to $400 in statement credits, which can reimburse you for a long list of charges you could incur by booking and staying at a Hilton resort property. The credit is divided into two parts: $200 for use between January 1 and June 30 and up to $200 between July 1 and December 31.

The Hilton Aspire resort credit can cover the following items:

• Eligible room rates
• Room service
• Food and beverages
• Spa experiences
• Excursions
• Cash upgrades

There are so many ways to take advantage of the resort credit. What room rates are eligible?

The Hilton Aspire resort credit can cover room rates that aren't prepaid or advance rates. The eligible rate will be the “Best Available Rate” in most cases. Also, special rates and discounts for extended stays qualify for the credit. As an example, take the Shore House at The Del:

When you go through the booking process and arrive at the “Select a Rate” page, you'll see several available options:

If you are not charged for the entirety of your stay upfront, your booking should qualify to receive the statement credit.

How To Use the Hilton Aspire Resort Credit

Taking advantage of the Hilton Aspire resort credit is very simple. Just charge the eligible purchase to your room and settle the bill with your Hilton Aspire at an eligible resort to trigger the statement credit.

Thankfully, Hilton doesn't make it any more complicated than that. There's no minimum purchase required, and you don't need to enroll for this particular card benefit in advance.

When will the resort credit post to my card statement?

American Express says you should allow 8–12 weeks for the credit to appear on your statement. However, the credit will likely post within 1-2 weeks after you make an eligible purchase.

If the credit doesn't post quickly, note that Amex reps are likely to cite the 8-12-week timeframe mentioned in the terms and conditions if you were to contact them. So, you'll need to wait until after the 12-week mark to contact American Express by calling the phone number on your Hilton Aspire card.

Since this is a statement credit, it only applies against eligible charges. You won't receive it as a discount at the time of payment. Also, you'll only receive credits equal to the amount you actually spend — up to the $400 yearly maximum.
