You know we're always up for a good airport lounge, which is why we rushed over to check out the new Capital One Lounge in Denver as soon as it opened.
Unlike other card issuers, Capital One has been racing to open its new lounges as quickly as possible and isn't making new rules that limit who can enter. The Denver lounge follows the Capital One Lounge Washington D.C. and Capital One Lounge Dallas as the third location open to date.
So, how was it visiting the new Capital One Lounge Denver on opening day? Let's take a look.

Denver Capital One Lounge Layout
The Denver Capital One Lounge is divided into four distinct parts. There's the entrance, which is essentially open to the escalators.

The other three sections are connected and form a U shape around the entrance.

There's also a bar section, where the majority of the food is served. When we visited, it was the liveliest by far.

An additional seating section is available at the back of the U, which was much calmer during this period. It features more than 50 pieces of art from local artists.

Finally, the more amenity-focused section includes additional seating, work rooms, phone booths, and relaxation rooms. We'll talk more about these further down. Note that all seats in the lounge include plugs to charge your electronics.

Food and Beverage at the Capital One Lounge Denver
Capital One is good at food. That's obvious to anyone who's ever visited one of its lounges. The Denver Capital One Lounge is no different; you'll find single-portion meals available in the main bar/food section.
Since we visited on opening day, we weren't able to experience the entirety of the menu on offer. Representatives from Capital One assured us that they're ramping up and expect to have the full menu out within three weeks of opening.
Even though the food choices were more limited than usual, they were all very tasty. You'll have your pick of dishes based on when you're visiting. In the morning, corned beef hash, Spanish skewers, Dutch mini pancakes (Poffertjes), and chia seed pudding are all available.

The food is fresh, high-quality, and delicious. This isn't the same mass-produced glop you'll find at some Priority Pass lounges.

Capital One has also done its best to make the alcohol experience special, calling on local businesses to create not one but two types of drinks exclusive to the lounge.

For beer drinkers, the Sky High PA has been crafted by a local brewery as the “perfect airport beer.” Liquor connoisseurs can enjoy The Spirit of Denver, a specially designed spirit you can have on the rocks or in a cocktail.
Obviously, wine (and specialty upgrades) are also available.

We tried out the Colorado Cool-Aid, which was refreshing and delicious.

If you're a non-drinker or just exploring your drink options, you'll find fresh coffee on offer as well as specialty soda flavors like pineapple cream soda.

You'll also find a variety of light bites around the lounge, including bakery options from local businesses.

Finally, Capital One has been really successful with honing its grab-and-go section, and the lounge in Denver is no exception. There are hot food items, cold-brewed coffee, and various other snacks available for when you hit the road.

Capital One Lounge Denver Service
Service at the Capital One Lounge in Denver was top-notch. Was this because it was the first day? Maybe. There were certainly quite a few members of staff hanging around, and any time I finished the last morsel of food, my plate was swept away instantly.
That being said, I was thrilled when a server came over to let me know they'd exchanged the morning meals for lunch food in case I wanted to try a bite. I also was happy when the bartender came over to serve me my drink personally after needing to wait for a restock of ice.
Bottom Line
The Capital One Lounge in Denver is an excellent addition to the card issuer's lineup, and it's easy to see that Capital One is in it for the long haul. With the excellent service, fresh food, and relaxation rooms ready for a nap, we're already eager to return. Even better, this lounge offers unlimited access to eligible cardholders — and charges just $65 per day for everyone else.
The competition in airport lounges is heating up, and we're all for it.
