If you've been building up your Virgin Points, you might like these new Virgin Hotel promotions. Currently, Virgin Red members can book award nights at select Virgin Hotels in the U.S. for as few as 20,000 points per night — or just 15k Amex points during an ongoing Amex-Virgin transfer bonus. Here are the details and tips for getting the best value from your points.
Book U.S. Virgin Hotels from 20,000 Points
The Virgin Hotel collection continues to expand. Properties are now in London, Edinburgh, New York, New Orleans, Dallas, Chicago, Las Vegas, and Nashville. Four of those locations are currently offering promotions on award nights. Virgin Red members can stay for as few as 20,000 points per night.
- New Orleans: 20,000 points per night on weeknights and 30,000 points per night on weekends.
- Dallas: 22,500 points per night on weeknights and 35,000 points per night on weekends.
- New York: 27,500 points per night on weeknights and 35,000 points per night on weekends.
- Nashville: 27,500 points per night on weeknights and 32,500 points per night on weekends.
Members must book their stay by January 15, 2026, and at least 7 days prior to check-in. Eligible stays are between January 1 and January 31, 2026, at the Virgin Hotel New Orleans, and through February 28, 2026, for all other hotels. Only Chamber rooms are eligible for these rates. Breakfast is not included.
To get these rates, Virgin Red members must also be members of The Know, link their accounts, and be logged in to their Know account when booking.

Is This Deal Worth It?
You have to crunch the numbers to work out if this deal is worth it. There is some variance in the price of Chamber rooms between dates and hotels. We found a two-night stay in New Orleans for $254 per night, excluding taxes and fees. Paying 20,000 points would yield a value of 1.27¢ per point.

On the other hand, one night at the Virgin Hotel Nashville is as much as $469 per weekday night in February. Using 27,500 points that night brings the value per point to 1.74¢.

Remember that you can also use your Virgin Red Points for awards with Virgin Atlantic. Arguably, that is where the true value of these points lies. On average, AwardWallet members have leveraged their Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points for 3.62¢. That is substantially more than redeeming your points for hotel stays in Dallas.
Boosting Your Virgin Red Points Balance
You are in luck if you need to boost your Virgin Red points balance quickly. Not only are there direct transfer partners like Capital One, but you can also transfer four of the other six major points currencies to Virgin Atlantic, including Chase Ultimate Rewards and Amex Membership Rewards. Then, you can transfer them onwards to Virgin Red.
Our Take
While tempting, this promotion is nowhere near the best use of your Virgin Red points.
Arguably, in some cases, if you're heading to one of the cities with a Virgin Hotel participating in this promotion for an event when nights are more expensive, you might find a good deal. Then again, you may be better off using your points for the flights and booking the hotel with cash.
That being said, it is good to know this promo is here, even if you are planning on passing on it in most cases. But those looking to check out a boutique luxury property and wanting to use points to do so may be happy to jump on this Virgin Hotels promotion. And “jump” is the key word, because you need to book soon.
