The lounge game has been heating up for a while. Issuers with premium rewards card products are carving out space in airports seemingly left and right. Capital One is just the latest to announce a new offering, with its newest outpost coming to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport at some point in the future.

Here's everything we know so far about JFK's Capital One Lounge, including what you can expect when you walk through the doors.

A New Capital One Lounge Is Coming to JFK's Terminal 4

We've got good news, and we've got bad news. The good news? The JFK airport is getting a new 13,000-square-foot Capital One Lounge, complete with everything from showers to a specially-trained cheesemonger. The bad news? Construction hasn't broken ground yet, and the opening date is TBD.

But that doesn't mean we can't appreciate the good news. Capital One's newest space will be a stunner. When the lounge opens, Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Venture X Business cardholders will enjoy several amenities. Some of the JFK-specific offerings will include:

  • 13,000 square feet of space with expansive tarmac views.
  • An in-house bodega serving bagels and an in-house cheesemonger to help curate unique culinary experiences.
  • A wide range of food and beverages featuring local breweries, mixologists, coffee roasters, and bakeries.
  • New York-inspired design elements, such as custom lighting and local artwork.

And cardholders will also find staple Capital One Lounge amenities, like shower suites, high-speed WiFi, grab-and-go food, small plates, a coffee bar, and more.

When it opens, you'll find JFK's Capital One Lounge in the Retail Hall of Terminal 4 (T4).

Final Thoughts

We'll admit, we're excited to see JFK's Capital One Lounge come to life. Capital One Lounges are enjoyable places to relax pre-flight, which is why we've raved about other outposts, such as the one in Denver (DEN) or Washington, D.C.'s Dulles International Airport (IAD).

The addition of new spaces makes the lounge access perk on your Capital One Venture X or Venture X Business more valuable, too. Thanks to your card, there'll be yet another lounge you can enter.

And if you don't have a Capital One card that can get you into a Capital One Lounge, it's worth considering adding one to your arsenal — especially if you frequently transit JFK. That way, you can be among the first to visit when Capital One cuts the ribbon.
