One of the world’s busiest airports is getting a brand-new Chase Sapphire Lounge, and it appears set to open in September 2026.
Initial plans for the lounge were revealed in a proposal submitted to Los Angeles World Airports in June 2024, and more details have gradually emerged since. We now have a much clearer picture of what the lounge will look like, where it will be located at LAX, and even what might be on the menu.
Here’s what we know so far about the coming Chase Sapphire Lounge at LAX.
What We Know About the New Chase Sapphire Lounge at LAX
It’s long been known that Chase wants to expand its airport lounge footprint in the gateways most frequented by its cardmembers. And few U.S. airports get more traffic than Los Angeles.
With other card issuers unveiling new lounges and releasing renderings of the next fanciest thing left and right, competing in major airports like LAX has become almost a necessity.

Location and amenities
So, what is Chase planning to do at LAX? Based on a 281-page document published online by the City of Los Angeles Department of Airports, here’s what Chase has in store for its new Sapphire Lounge:
- Location: The Sapphire Lounge at LAX will be located on the concourse level of the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT).
- Size: The lounge will span approximately 9,234 square feet. That makes it significantly larger than the Phoenix lounge, which measures around 3,500 square feet. But it'll be smaller than the 20,000-square-foot flagship lounge in Philadelphia.
- Design and ambiance: Travelers can expect a space filled with Hollywood charm and Art Deco glamour, featuring local artwork and lush palms. The overall aesthetic is designed to capture the creativity and energy of Los Angeles.
- Key features: One unique-to-here element will be a Record Lounge. This will be a listening space with an archive record wall that pays tribute to LA’s music scene. Another feature, pending approval from Los Angeles World Airports, is an elevated lounge-to-gate experience. This VIP service would allow select guests to be escorted directly from the lounge to their departure gate via a private electric vehicle.
- Amenities: Guests can look forward to lounge-style seating, quiet rest areas, dedicated workspaces, charging stations, private bathrooms, shower suites, wellness areas, entertainment options, a concierge service, and more.

Food and beverage program
Chase also plans to make food and drink a focal point of the lounge experience. The LAX Sapphire Lounge will feature a culinary program that highlights regional ingredients and locally-owned businesses. The goal is to deliver a dining experience that is reflective of Los Angeles.
- Menu items: The proposed menu includes an Everyday Super Salad with kale, avocado, blueberries, and seeds. You'll also find popcorn chicken and mini waffles, cilantro lime shrimp quesadillas with smashed avocado, and a nut-free California fruit and coconut trail mix.
- Signature cocktails: Guests can expect LA-inspired drinks like the Hills Have Fizz, made with Astral Pacific gin, Chambord, cream, orange flower water, and foam, and the Santa Ana Sour, featuring Blinking Owl aquavit, lemon honey syrup, and Muscat Noir.

When will the Chase Sapphire Lounge at LAX open?
The Chase Sapphire Lounge at LAX will be operated by Airport Dimensions, which outlined a proposed construction timeline in the 281-page planning document. Of particular note is “Phase 5,” which refers to the lounge’s official opening date.
Barring any construction delays, the lounge is currently expected to open on September 1, 2026. Of course, that timeline could shift, so we’ll have to wait and see if it stays on track.

Who can access the Chase Sapphire Lounge LAX?
Access to Chase Sapphire Lounges is limited to two groups: eligible cardholders and those with a Priority Pass Select membership. Chase-issued cards with complimentary access (and their guest policies) include:
- Chase Sapphire Reserve® (Rates & Fees) and Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ (Rates & Fees): Bring two guests for free, additional guests for $27 per person.
- The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card: Bring two guests for free, additional guests for $27 per person.
- J.P. Morgan Reserve card: Unlimited guests.
Authorized users also get complimentary access to Chase Sapphire Lounges, courtesy of their Priority Pass credentials. Priority Pass Select members get one complimentary visit to a Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club location per calendar year.

Final Thoughts
It's always a good day when a credit card issuer unveils plans to open a new airport lounge. And once the Chase Sapphire Lounge in LAX opens its doors sometime in the future, there will be yet another place in a busy international airport where you can relax pre-flight. Given the lack of Priority Pass lounges at LAX, we expect this Chase outpost to be popular.
