The story goes that Friday is a notoriously good time to bury bad news since most people who might read it are already checked out for the weekend. But I don’t think this news will get buried. In roughly two months, Chase Ultimate Rewards will lose Emirates Skywards as a transfer partner. Here’s what to know and what you can do in the meantime.
Chase Ultimate Rewards Transfers to Emirates Skywards Ending October 16
Well, the header above sums it up. Chase Ultimate Rewards is losing Emirates Skywards as a transfer partner on October 16, 2025.
And there’s no way to sugarcoat this one. It’s disappointing, especially if you’ve used Chase points to book Emirates’ best first and business class cabins, or to snag a cheap economy award between the U.S. and one of the airline’s fifth-freedom destinations — well, at least before Emirates restricted first class awards to elite members and hiked taxes and fees on most routes.
Unfortunately, this news didn’t come out of left field. It’s just the next chapter in a long saga that began several months ago with Citi ThankYou® Rewards announcing a devaluation to Emirates transfers, followed by a handful of Emirates transfer partners — Chase included — pausing transfers, and now this. Not surprising, but still disappointing.
At this time, Chase hasn’t sent cardholders any direct communication about the change. However, the Chase-to-Emirates transfer partner page now states:
“Effective 12:00 AM ET on October 16, 2025, the ability to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Skywards Miles will no longer be available.”

It’s unclear whether Chase will be the only issuer to lose Emirates transfers or if other Emirates credit card transfer partners will face similar news soon.
We've reached out to Emirates for comment about these changes, but didn't get a response by the time of publishing.
Bottom Line
Ever since Chase and a handful of other issuers paused transfers to Emirates Skywards earlier this year, we’ve suspected there was more to the story — and unfortunately, there is. On October 16, 2025, Chase Ultimate Rewards points will no longer transfer to Emirates.
It’s not often that an issuer loses a transfer partner, so this is a pretty big deal. Thankfully, you still have some time to initiate a transfer before the cutoff — if you can stomach the now-higher award taxes and fees.
