Capital One has a very impressive lineup of business credit cards. The issuer offers two families of business cards — Spark and Venture. No matter which option you choose, you're in for a treat. You'll earn valuable rewards and gain access to helpful business tools, such as year-end summaries and free employee cards.
Capital One has made it much easier to know which business cards you could qualify for with a new pre-approval tool. Here's how it works.
How To Get Pre-Approved for a Capital One Business Card
Interested in a Capital One business credit card, but you don't want a hard pull on your credit report just to get denied? Capital One has a solution for you. The new pre-approval for Capital One business credit cards allows you to see what cards you qualify for with no impact to your personal credit score.

Capital One will check your eligibility for all of its business cards, including:
- Capital One Spark Cash Plus
- Capital One Venture X Business
- Capital One Spark Cash
- Capital One Venture Business
- Capital One Spark Cash Select
- Capital One VentureOne Business
- Capital One Spark Classic for Business
The process for getting pre-approved for a Capital One business card is largely the same as getting pre-approved for a personal card.

On the pre-approval homepage, scroll to the “Let's get started” section and click “Continue.”
If you are already a Capital One client, you can sign in to pre-fill part of your application. You'll need to answer some personal information, including your income and your monthly rent or mortgage payment. This is the same as when you apply for a personal card.
Next, enter some information about your business, including:
- Revenue
- Business spending
- How often you carry a balance
- If you intend to do cash advances
- Business name
- Business structure
- Employee Identification Number (EIN)
- Industry
- When your business was formed
Finally, you'll need to agree to a few terms and conditions. Most are standard, but there's one line that sticks out:
“I understand that SBFE inquiries do not impact my personal credit score but may impact other SBFE-based risk scores.”
Submitting a pre-approval request will not impact your personal credit score, but can impact your Small Business Financial Exchange (SBFE)-based scores. In other words, it might impact your business credit score. I've never held a business card, so I am not super concerned with any small impact on a business credit score by submitting the request.
Click “See if I'm pre-approved” to view your results. Even with excellent personal credit, I was only pre-approved for the Spark Classic. I'm not in the market for a business card, and if I were, I probably wouldn't be interested in the Spark Classic due to its low earning potential. So, rather than clicking “Complete application,” I exited out of the pre-approval tool.

Comparing Capital One Business Cards
The Spark cards routinely offer fantastic welcome bonuses. In addition to a great welcome offer, these cards offer valuable perks worth considering:
- Spark Cash Plus: You can get your $150 annual fee refunded whenever you spend at least $150,000, which is great for businesses with significant expenses. You'll earn 2% cash back on every purchase and 5% cash back on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Business Travel, and it's a charge card with no preset spending limit.
- Spark Cash: Enjoy a lower annual fee — $0 intro for first year; $95 after that. You'll have a comparable earning potential to the Spark Cash Plus, but you'll have a standard line of credit.
- Spark Cash Select: If you don't want to pay an annual fee but still want cash back, this is the best option. This is also a standard credit card with a fixed credit limit. You can even take advantage of a low intro APR window on purchases, making it a solid option for businesses just getting started.
- Spark Classic: This card is designed to build credit. It doesn't charge an annual fee, but it'll still earn rewards. It's great for brand-new businesses looking to establish a business credit score.
