Spending time in an airport lounge before or after your flight is one of the easiest ways to make air travel more enjoyable. Lounge access is a perk that you don't want to overlook, offering benefits like free food, drinks, Wi-Fi, comfy chairs, and outlets galore. Delta Sky Club lounges are a great place to take advantage of all of the benefits that a lounge can offer.
Recently, Delta has made it harder to gain Sky Club access and cut down on how early you can visit the lounge before a flight, but you still have plenty of options to access these lounges. Let's take a look at what they are.

About Delta Sky Club
Delta Sky Clubs are a network of lounges associated with Delta Airlines.
There are currently more than 50 domestic locations, along with one international location in Tokyo's Haneda airport. Additionally, there are over 100 partner lounges available through Delta's SkyTeam partnership. Delta allows you to access Sky Clubs for up to three hours before your departure time and for the length of your connection time if you're between flights. Certain guests also can access the Sky Club after arrival, even if they don't have an onward flight.
Over the past few years, Delta has had significant issues with Clubs being overly crowded. As a result, the airline has added new rules and reduced access to help control the crowds. That being said, Sky Clubs also received some major upgrades.

New locations and updates
Delta continues to open new locations and expand previous Sky Clubs. There were four new locations in 2022: New York’s LaGuardia Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, Chicago-O’Hare, and Delta's first international Club at Haneda Airport in Tokyo. Kansas City's new airport development plan included a new Sky Club, as well, opening on February 28, 2023.
There were also major expansions of both the Nashville and Boston locations. This was done in hopes of creating more space for people to be able to access the Clubs. For more information on the latest Sky Club news, check out this link.
How To Access a Delta Sky Club
You want to get into a Delta Sky Club? One of the simplest ways to gain access is to hold one of the following credit cards. Each has its own set of benefits and perks related to the card. You can read this article for help on how to choose the right Delta card.
It's important to note that lounge access benefits are only available on the Platinum and Reserve cards. Keep reading to get more information on each of them!

The Business Platinum Card® from American Express offers the same lounge benefits as its personal counterpart above. Guest prices at the Delta Sky Club are the same, as well.
Enrollment is required for select Amex benefits.
If you have any of the cards above, the process for getting into Sky Club is pretty simple. Just present your card, same-day boarding pass, and government-issued I.D. at the Sky Club check-in. That's it!

If you're flying in Delta One (domestically or internationally) or on a domestic flight to connect to an international Delta One flight, you can visit the Sky Club but can't bring a guest. You also can visit if you're traveling in first class or business class with a Sky Team partner. This doesn't include travel to the Caribbean, however.
If you're flying in business class with LATAM, you can visit the Sky Club before your flight or before a connecting flight onward to your international flight with LATAM. You can't bring any guests into the lounge, though.
WestJet passengers in business class or connecting to an international business-class flight with Delta or WestJet can visit the Sky Club but can't bring guests.
Gain access with elite status
Another way to get into Delta Sky Club is to have Delta status as a Gold, Platinum, or Diamond Medallion Member AND be flying internationally in a premium cabin.
When flying internationally in Delta Premium Select or Delta One (or an equivalent cabin on a partner airline), these elites can enter the Sky Club and bring one guest (who must meet the same cabin criteria). This access also extends to elites flying in First Class to Mexico, Canada, or Central America. One guest is permitted. Note that travel to the Caribbean does not count. Sky Club membership also is an eligible Choice Benefit for Diamond Medallion members.
If you have SkyTeam Elite Plus status from another airline (not Delta), you can access the Sky Club with one guest when traveling on a SkyTeam international flight (in any cabin) or on a domestic flight to connect onward internationally. You cannot visit Sky Clubs on arrival at the end of your journey, however.
If you have LATAM Pass Signature Black Emerald, Black Emerald, or Platinum Sapphire status, you can visit the lounge when traveling in any cabin if you're flying with Delta or LATAM internationally that same day. This also includes access prior to your domestic connecting flight to get you to the airport for the international leg. You can bring one guest.
With Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Gold status, you get access to the lounge before international flights with Delta, Air France, KLM, or Virgin Atlantic, as well as prior to domestic connections to reach that flight. You can bring one guest.
If you have WestJet Gold or Platinum status and are flying between the U.S. and Canada on a WestJet or Delta flight, you can visit the lounge and can bring a guest.
Purchase a membership
You can buy a membership to the Sky Club, but only if you're a Delta Diamond Medallion member.
- Individual membership: $695 or 69,500 miles. This membership allows you to bring up to two guests for an additional $50 (or 50,000 miles) each.
- Executive membership: $1,495 or 149,500 miles. This membership allows you to bring two guests free of charge.
Day passes
Unfortunately, Delta no longer sells single-day passes. You'll need one of the above access methods, or you must enter with someone who has guest privileges.
Bottom Line
Delta has reduced who (and when) can access the Sky Club in order to combat overcrowding. The sale of memberships and day passes has been reduced, as well. On the other hand, there are still multiple ways to get inside, which is nice considering the fact Delta is opening more locations and renovating/expanding existing clubs. If you want to visit a Sky Club, look through the options above to see which works best for you.

I’m unclear when you can access Delta lounges on arrival
Do you have more information.
I have Amex Business Platinum and I’ll probably be flying coach on one trip and business class on another out of LAX
thanks
Hi Paul – Delta has specifically spelled out that those with Delta Amex Reserve and Platinum cards may access lounges on arrival. It’s not mentioned for anyone else, which makes me think it’s likely not possible. Check the info listed for Amex Business Platinum and also the “fly in a premium cabin” sections of this article for your 2 trips.
