Since 2021, cardmembers of The Platinum Card® from American Express have been able to get a free Walmart+ membership through statement credits against the membership cost. Just enroll for the benefit, pay for your Walmart+ membership with the Amex Platinum, and receive a statement credit offsetting the cost. While that might not sound exciting on its own, cardmembers have a few reasons to take advantage of this Walmart+ subscription — including getting discounts at over 14,000 gas stations and a free Paramount Plus Essentials subscription.

You can use this free Paramount Plus subscription to stream over 40,000 TV episodes, including shows like NCIS: Hawaii and Survivor — as well as movies. Or keep up with the NFL on CBS and the UEFA Champions League soccer. You'll save $4.99/month by activating this included benefit of Walmart+.

Here's how to take advantage of this roundabout perk of the Amex Platinum.

How Amex Platinum Cardmembers Can Get a Free Paramount Plus Subscription

To sign up for your free Paramount Plus subscription, log into your Walmart+ account and find the offer for “Video streaming with Paramount+” under the section called “Your W+ benefits.”

Bottom Line

The Amex Platinum‘s $695 annual fee (Rates & Fees) is a steep price to pay, but the card is loaded with perks. And some of those perks offer their own perks — like a free Paramount Plus subscription from your Walmart+ membership! A $4.99/month subscription probably isn't going to move the needle for many cardholders, but it's a nice perk to take advantage of nonetheless.

  • I agree that Amex Plat has some good benefits but this one to cover walmart + just isn’t on a list that I benefit from. I do not prefer walmart shopping online. I expect that if I go to walmarts website to see things that are at walmart. It’s not something that I prefer. As for the Paramount? eh. but then I wouldn’t use some of the other things that the card has too.
