Global IHG Promotions
Pre-registration open: 2,000 points every 2 nights, or 8,000 points every 4 nights
IHG just announced its next global promotion, and registration is already open. Members can sign up to earn 2,000 bonus points every two nights or 8,000 bonus points every four nights. You can only register for one of the two offers, and once you've made your choice, the other option becomes unavailable.
Only nights completed after registration count toward earning bonus points. The nights don't need to be consecutive, and stays can be as short as one night, as long as each night costs at least $30.

There’s no published cap on how many points you can earn between May 20 and August 31, 2025. That said, the most you could theoretically earn is 200,000 bonus points if you register for the 8,000-point offer and stay at an IHG property every night during the 103-night promo window.
If you plan to stay fewer than four nights (or just 6 or 7 nights) during the promo period, go with the 2,000-point offer. Otherwise, the 8,000-point version will likely earn you more points.
Key terms
- Register to earn 2,000 bonus points every two nights, or 8,000 bonus points every four nights.
- Members can only register for one offer and cannot switch once registered.
- Registration must be completed before any eligible nights are completed.
- Eligible stays must occur between May 20 and August 31, 2025.
- Bonus points are awarded every two or four nights, depending on the selected offer.
Buy up to 5,000 elite qualifying bonus points per night
Members have the option to buy up to 5,000 elite qualifying bonus points per night at booking. This might or might not be a good idea, so check out the math of when it does and doesn't make sense.
Regional IHG Promotions
Most current regional IHG promotions are savings-focused and offer up to 25% off your hotel stay or dining bill. While we hope to see more points-focused offers soon, these regional deals are still worth considering, especially if you’re planning a trip and haven’t locked in your accommodations yet.

IHG is running two targeted offers for select IHG co-branded credit cardholders:
- 6,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 between May 1 and July 31, 2025
- 20,000 bonus points after spending $20,000 between May 1 and July 31 (or September 30, depending on the terms shown)
Both offers are only available to targeted members and require a significant spend. Unless you’re already planning to put that much on your IHG card, it may not be worth chasing. If you're targeted, you'll see these offers in your account dashboard.
Our Take
The next global IHG promotion is already open for registration. If you think you might stay at an IHG property for 4, 5, or more than 7 days between May 20 and August 31, register to earn 8,000 bonus points every four nights. Otherwise, at least register to earn 2,000 bonus points every two nights.
You can also see if you can earn bonus points with other ongoing IHG promotions. And don't forget to use an IHG co-branded credit card — such as the IHG One Rewards Premier Card — to maximize your earnings at IHG properties.
Wherever your travel plans take you, there should be an IHG promotion that fits them and helps you save money or rack up points. Don't forget to check out all the offers and register for the ones you think you'll take advantage of.
