Delta Air Lines will officially lift the curtain on its newest pair of lounges at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) on June 26th, introducing a dual-level retreat that sets a new standard for airport luxury and local immersion. I received an invite to tour the premises ahead of the official opening, so here are my initial thoughts and a few pics of these gorgeous spaces.

With the opening of the highly anticipated Delta One Lounge and a refreshed Delta Sky Club, the airline isn't just showcasing comfort — it's serving Seattle’s natural beauty, culinary culture, and local values.

In our conversation with Claude Roussel, VP of Sky Club and Lounge Experience, he expressed that the mission for his role has been to turn the Delta Sky Club — but particularly more so the Delta One Lounges — into one of the main reasons to fly Delta. From my experience in this Delta One Lounge, I'd argue that they certainly have achieved that.

The entrance to both spaces is shared. Travelers are greeted inside a beautiful entrance and then directed to elevators taking you to either the Delta One Lounge or the Sky Club. Delta One passengers have no time limit for their entrance. Yes, you can come into the lounge even if there are seven hours before your flight.

Delta One Lounge Seattle

Located at A11, and perched on the top floor and reserved exclusively for Delta One passengers and select elite guests, this new 221-seat lounge is all about indulgence — Pacific Northwest style.

The lounge offers sweeping, 270-degree vistas with seating that wraps around the terrace (my absolutely favorite space), offering stunning views of Mt. Rainier/Tahoma (for those days when the mountain is out) — a visual anchor that grounds the space in its surroundings.

This lounge will be the first in Seattle to have outdoor space available for passengers, though I’m curious to see what it will look like during the winter. There are ceiling fans for when it gets toasty, but I spotted no heaters for the winter.

After asking around, I learned that they will be providing heated blankets when the weather is inclement. The terrace isn't fully open. There are glass panes with open gaps to let the fresh air in — but unfortunately, these slats also let in noise from the highway and Light Link Rail.

There are a variety of seating options, from casual lounge areas to more traditional dining tables. Most lounge seating includes charging ports, though dining areas offer fewer.

Dining

Foodies will revel in the open kitchen and dining, an interactive culinary journey led by top chefs. The food is available as long as the lounge is open, although items rotate throughout the day.

For breakfast, you can expect local pastries baked fresh each morning, Dungeness crab Benedict eggs, wood-fired Dutch baby pancakes topped with Rainier cherry compote, showcasing locally sourced products. They also serve brew from Seattle’s own Caffe Umbria.

Highlights from the rotating three-course lunch and dinner menu will include:

  • Seafood standouts like Dungeness crab cannelloni and wood-fired teriyaki steelhead.
  • Fresh small plates such as yellowtail crudo, heirloom tomato salad, ramen and homemade dumplings.
  • Decadent desserts, including a Rainier cherry sundae, rich chocolate mousse, and a local cheese plate starring Beecher’s Flagship (which you can also find at Pike Place).

Drinks

The bar is just as adventurous and goes head to head with that of our beloved SEA Centurion Lounge. What I like the most about its design is that you can approach it from three sides, which I imagine avoids overcrowding the space with a line.

Inspired by global Delta destinations, signature cocktails include the Lychee Martini (from Taipei), Fleur 75 (Paris), and Shanghai Mule (Shanghai), plus a curated sake and West Coast wine selection to round out the experience. For the ever growing non-alcoholic beverage enthusiasts, a thoughtful list of drinks — like the Green Tea Refresher and Hibiscus PaNoma are also available. There are very premium options available for purchase with both Sky Miles and cash.

Restrooms

The restrooms aren’t an afterthought, either: each of the four stalls has occupancy sensors. While hand dryers are provided to advance sustainability, paper towels are also available for those of us who love washing our faces to look fresh. Products are by Grown Alchemist. Sharp disposals are also available in the restrooms for everyone who travels with medications.

Because of space constraints, there are no showers in the Delta One Lounge restrooms, but two shower stalls are available to Delta One and Delta Sky Club guests — including one accessible shower. All you have to do is request them when you check into the lounge or ask one of the ambassadors.

Delta Sky Club Seattle

Just one level below the Delta One Lounge, the 186-seat Sky Club blends modern convenience with Pacific Northwest charm. Expansive windows frame views of evergreen forests (ok, fine, just the conifers around the airport) and distant mountain ranges (on a clear day), creating a tranquil backdrop for travelers on the go.

Dining

Expect a rotating menu of hearty favorites:

  • Lemon chicken, slow-cooked ribs, and chili-glazed meatballs.
  • Crisp salads and freshly made sandwiches.
  • Clam chowder from Seattle’s beloved institution Ivar’s, and local desserts such as coconut cream pie and marionberry crumble.
  • And of course, coffee from Seattle's hometown hero: Starbucks.

Drinks

The bar flanks one of the window sides, almost all the way across the space. Now, you can tell they did a good job designing this as, in order not to interrupt the wonderful views out the window, the bar is sunken in. Across is the food buffet. Separating the two is most of the seating arrangements for dining. Around these are the more relaxed sit-down options. While the bar options are a step down from the Delta One lounge, you're still getting premium drinks nonetheless.

Restrooms

Two showers are available to Sky Club guests and Delta Lounge passengers upon request. Much like upstairs in the Delta One space, they are similar, but there are a few more since traffic at Delta Sky Club is higher. You'll still find the same amenities across both lounges.

Design Rooted in the Pacific Northwest

From the moment guests step into the new lounges, they’re wrapped in a visual love letter to the region. Rich emerald greens, deep navy blues, warm rust tones, and natural wood surfaces create a moody yet inviting palette. Textured stone, sleek paneling, and reflective glass capture the essence of misty mountain peaks, while curated lighting enhances the space’s sense of warmth and depth — a cozy, luxe escape from the airport bustle.

A long-term investment in Seattle

Delta’s upgraded lounges aren’t just about creature comforts — they’re part of a broader investment in Seattle and healthy competition with our cherished no-longer-small-regional airline, Alaska Airlines. In the last decade, Delta has added 28 new markets from SEA and nearly doubled daily departures, expected to reach 180 by summer 2025.

These new lounges solidify Delta’s commitment to making Seattle a true West Coast hub with both domestic and global reach — something we in the frequent travel community welcome with open arms.

Sustainability highlights

Behind the luxe finishes lies a deep commitment to sustainable design, which we all PNW dwellers appreciate. Developed in collaboration with the airport’s Sustainability Design Review Committee, the lounges include electrochromic glass that tints automatically to reduce energy use — which hopefully means it won’t blind me as I sip on a cocktail while catching runway views.

There are sensors that control lighting and turn lights on or off as needed. For example, I walked into a fully dark restroom that immediately lit up for me. Reusable dinnerware to minimize waste while enhancing the premium feel – because there’s nothing high-end about plasticware.

Bottom Line

Delta’s new SEA lounges are intended to be more than just a pre-flight pit stop — they’re a destination in themselves. Blending Seattle’s creative spirit, culinary sophistication, and natural grandeur, it will offer travelers a moment of indulgence and local connection before leaving town. Whether you’re sipping a craft cocktail with the mountains in view or savoring crab benedict to the sound of steaming espresso, this is Delta’s Pacific Northwest — elevated.

With these now much larger spaces being added plus the already existing Delta Sky Club remaining, there’s the hope we’ll be able to enjoy some time at these lounges without much of a line out the door.
