American Airlines has launched a new airline shopping portal promotion, simply titled a “member appreciation bonus” this month. AAdvantage members can earn up to 2,000 bonus miles after reaching a spending threshold. This promotion runs through May 21, 2026.
Airline shopping portal promotions are a great way to earn extra miles for your next flight. Current Airline Shopping Portal Promotions
So far, only American Airlines has launched a limited-time shopping portal promotion for May, but it's a good offer. Unlike in February, when members could earn up to 1,500 bonus miles across three promotions, this one promotion offers up to 2,000 bonus miles.
It's likely that one or more airlines will launch a shopping portal promotion in the next few days, so check back for updates if you're more interested in earning rewards other than AAdvantage miles.
American Airlines AAdvantage eShopping
The latest American Airlines shopping portal promotion offers AAdvantage members up to 2,000 bonus miles after reaching a spending threshold on eligible purchases in the AAdvantage eShopping portal through May 21, 2026. This offer has two tiers, both offering 2.5x bonus rewards:
- Spend $200 and earn 500 bonus miles
- Spend $800 and earn 2,000 bonus miles

Note that bonus miles from the American AAdvantage portal promotion won't count as Loyalty Points toward status. However, the base earnings will net Loyalty Points.
Key terms and conditions
- This promotion ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on May 21, 2026.
- Qualifying purchases exclude returns, cancellations, shipping, taxes, gift cards, and certain ineligible products.
- Allow up to 10 weeks after the promotion ends for bonus points/miles to post.
- Purchases are cumulative; you don’t need to reach the spending threshold in one transaction or on a single day.

While only one airline shopping portal promotion has launched so far this month, you can still earn up to 2,000 bonus miles after spending $800. That's 2.5x bonus rewards on top of your usual credit card rewards.
