Have you heard of Bilt Rewards? If not, this year might be the perfect time to get it on your radar. The innovative loyalty program has just announced that soon you’ll be able to earn valuable Bilt Points on monthly mortgage payments. Here's what to know.

Bilt Teases Rewards on Monthly Mortgage Payments

For those unfamiliar, Bilt Rewards lets renters earn Bilt Points on their monthly rent payments, which can then be redeemed for travel, merchandise, or even applied toward rent.

The program is tied to The Bilt Mastercard® (Rates & Fees), which also earns Bilt Points on everyday spending like dining, travel, and fitness, helping members rack up rewards even faster. Even better, Bilt Points are extremely valuable thanks to partnerships with many of the top airline and hotel loyalty programs.

So, why does this matter? Until now, Bilt has focused on renters. But starting sometime in 2025, homeowners will also get in on the action, not with rent payments, but with mortgage payments.

Back in December 2024, Bilt’s founder and CEO, Ankur Jain, shared a detailed letter with members outlining program changes for the new year. The most notable takeaway was the plan to expand into the mortgage space. As Jain put it:

“We’ll announce the first phase of plans in the mortgage space, creating a whole new category of value for homeowners.”

Mortgage Rewards Are Only One Aspect of Exciting Future Bilt Developments

Since launching in 2021, Bilt Rewards has quickly become a household name. It was the first program to reward members with rewards for rent payments, and it has also helped members strengthen their credit through on-time reporting. Even today, Bilt is the largest reporter of on-time rent payments to the major credit bureaus.

While members have benefited from the program as it exists today, many have been vocal about wanting the same opportunities when it comes to buying a home and making mortgage payments. Although there isn’t yet an exact start date, Bilt has been clear that this is on the horizon for 2025.

Given the public nature of these announcements, it seems likely that Bilt wouldn’t share such news unless confident that mortgage rewards will launch sooner rather than later.

Jain’s letter also teased the arrival of a “Bilt Card 2.0” in 2025, though it’s not yet clear if this will be an updated version of the current Bilt Mastercard or an entirely new product. What is clear is that Bilt has listened to member feedback. Many have asked for more premium options, and Jain noted that the next phase of the card program will introduce tiered choices designed to meet different member needs, with added value tied to housing expenses and the neighborhood network.

Bottom Line

Since its launch, Bilt has faced criticism for focusing exclusively on renters. That’s set to change in 2025. According to Bilt’s founder, Ankur Jain, homeowners will soon be able to earn Bilt Points on their monthly mortgage payments.

Bilt has also hinted at updates to its credit card program, referring to it as “Bilt Card 2.0.” At this point, it’s unclear whether that means an entirely new card or modifications to the current Bilt Mastercard.

For now, we wait in anticipation for Bilt’s official announcement on mortgage payments, including a confirmed start date. We’ll share further updates as soon as they become available.
