Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt has quietly grown since its 2023 debut, offering Hyatt members the ability to earn and redeem points on vacation home rentals across the U.S. Now, Hyatt is rolling out a compelling incentive to give the platform a closer look: a triple points promotion that runs through September 7, 2025.

That means World of Hyatt members can currently earn up to 19X points per dollar on these rentals — an incredible earning opportunity. But while the earning potential is strong, redemptions are a different story.

Here’s a closer look at how the program works, what kind of value you can expect, and how to decide whether Homes & Hideaways is worth considering for your next trip.

Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt

World of Hyatt Hyatt introduced Homes & Hideaways in September 2023 and launched the platform the following month, offering the ability to earn and redeem points on these stays.

Like Airbnb, Vacasa, and Vrbo — and similar hotel platforms like Marriott Homes & Villas — travelers can book full homes through the platform. Many homes are also on the larger side, with space to sleep 6, 8, or even 12 guests.

The properties are normally managed by local companies, not by World of Hyatt. Thus, experiences can vary. You can search for and book properties at hyatt-homes-and-hideaways.com.

Hyatt loyalists: It’s worth noting that Homes & Hideaways is not part of Brand Explorer, and Hyatt has said there are no plans to add the brand at this time.

Homes & Hideaways locations

Dozens of properties are bookable across 31 U.S. states, though Hyatt doesn’t share an exact property count. The biggest clusters are in Hawaii, along the West Coast, New England, and in states like Colorado, Texas, and Florida.

At this time, Hyatt Homes & Hideaways doesn't have any international properties — even in Canada or Mexico.

World of Hyatt Rewards at Homes & Hideaways Properties

World of Hyatt members can earn points and stay credits on Homes & Hideaways rentals. Like at Hyatt hotels, World of Hyatt members earn 5X points per dollar spent on Homes & Hideaways rentals. World of Hyatt members also earn stay credits for each night of the stay, helping you earn toward elite status with Hyatt.

Furthermore, cardholders with The World of Hyatt Credit Card (Rates & Fees) or World of Hyatt Business Credit Card (Rates & Fees) earn an additional 4X points on Hyatt stays, including Homes & Hideaways stays. These cardholders would earn 9X points per dollar (or more, depending on their status tier) when paying for their stay with a Hyatt co-branded card, just like any other Hyatt hotel.

Redeeming Hyatt points and Homes & Hideaways

It's also possible to redeem Hyatt points for Homes & Hideaways properties. Most rentals are available at a rate of 1.1 to 1.2 cents per point. For instance, three nights in Big Sky, Montana, in October (the soonest that property is available) would cost $1,648.20 or 137,350 points = 1.2 cents per point.

Similarly, an example three-night stay in Aspen, Colorado costs $1,768.16 or 147,346 points = 1.2 cents per point.

Compare that to the 2.19¢ per point AwardWallet users average on their Hyatt redemptions. That means Homes & Hideaways redemptions offer roughly half the value of what travelers normally get from Hyatt points.

Ongoing Homes & Hideaways Promotions

Every now and then, Hyatt rolls out a promotion to encourage members to check out a Homes & Hideaways property. Here’s what’s available right now:

3X points on Homes & Hideaways stays

World of Hyatt members can earn 3X points on Homes & Hideaways stays through September 7, 2025. That means you’ll earn 15X points per dollar, plus an extra 4X bonus points per dollar if you pay with a World of Hyatt credit card. No registration is required for this promotion.

An eligible stay is any stay that earns World of Hyatt points. While there’s no minimum stay required for the promo itself, most properties do have their own minimum night requirements. There’s also no cap on how many stays can earn triple points.

Our Take

It seems every new hotel brand, especially the long-term stay ones, is accepted with a grain of salt. Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt is no different. Travelers should see if they can find a better deal on another booking platform for the same property — or see if there's a better use of their points.

There's also a limited number of properties on Homes & Hideaways, each with a very limited number of available nights to book. As the platform continues to expand, the value proposition may improve for travelers.

However, travelers looking for a vacation home rental may be excited about the ability to earn and redeem Hyatt points through Homes & Hideaways. Those looking to redeem their Hyatt points for maximum value, however, might not be impressed. At least you can earn triple points — up to 19X points per dollar — on stays through September 7, 2025.
