Wyndham has renewed its long-running status match offer. The promotion debuted in 2018 and was revived last year. Now, Wyndham has brought the offer back for another year. Using the promotion, you can status match to Wyndham with as little as a one-night stay. Here's how it works.

Wyndham Status Match Overview

  • Register or sign in to your Wyndham Rewards account.
  • Head to the Wyndham status match page here.
  • Submit your current elite status credentials.
  • You will receive your status within 5–7 days.

Status retention criteria

Once you have received your Wyndham status match, you must complete the following number of stays within 90 days to retain your status:

  • Gold: One stay
  • Platinum: Four stays
  • Diamond: 10 stays

Wyndham status match promotion criteria

Once you have completed the criteria, you receive status through the end of the year after the match. For example, if you complete the challenge in July 2024, you receive status through December 31, 2025. However, if you wait to register and complete your challenge in January 2025, you will receive status through December 31, 2026. That's assuming the offer is still available in January, however; the promotion could end between now and then, so waiting presents both opportunity and risk.

Qualifying Nights

Wyndham imposes a revenue minimum for a qualifying night to count and be credited toward earning status. To qualify, a night must be paid and part of a qualifying stay, with a minimum daily rate of $25.

If your stay is obtained using combinations of go free, go fast, Caesars go free, go free Condo, or go free Home awards, with one or more paid nights tacked on, then the average rate of the paid nights will be considered when working out whether the night is qualifying or not.

Fortunately, $25 is on the very low end of the spending threshold, so booking a night that meets that requirement should be a breeze.

Wyndham Status via Credit Cards

This very generous promotion gives you an excellent opportunity to leverage your status from other programs — even if your elite status is through credit card membership instead of nights in beds.

For instance, holders of the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy® American Express® Card and the Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful™ Card both receive Marriot Bonvoy Gold status, which matches to Wyndham Diamond. In the same way, holders of the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card receive IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status, which also matches to Wyndham Diamond.

Remember, if you hold The Platinum Card® from American Express or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, you can enroll for Hilton Honors Gold and Marriott Bonvoy Gold. Both match to Wyndham Diamond. Enrollment is required for select Amex benefits.

If you're looking for a shortcut to Wyndham Rewards Diamond status, remember that's a built-in perk for those with the Wyndham Rewards® Earner℠ Business Card. It comes with a $95 annual fee and is issued by Barclays in the U.S.

Our Take

The Wyndham status match offer provides brilliant value, and the fact Wyndham has extended the offer is great news. Any time you can leverage status with one program for status and benefits with another, the points and miles gods are smiling upon you.

Remember, if you plan on taking advantage of this promotion, you need to plan your stays well in advance. You can only use this shortcut once, and your 90-day countdown is live once you have matched. Therefore, you need to know you'll complete the required stays to retain your status through the end of the following year. If interested, you can register for this offer here.
