In early 2026, JetBlue launched “Family Tiles” — a way for children’s travel to contribute to their parents’ status tracker and help earn Mosaic status. Sounds pretty cool, right?
And without getting into too much detail, it makes a lot of sense. If you’re traveling as a family, airline status can be a key part of saving both time and money. As a dad of two, I know how quickly bag fees and snacks can add up. Plus, status can make the airport experience a bit easier to navigate.
Here’s everything you need to know about Family Tiles, plus a bit more clarity on how to earn Tiles in JetBlue’s TrueBlue program.
How JetBlue Family Tiles Work
First, “Tiles” are how you earn status in JetBlue’s TrueBlue program. There are four levels of Mosaic status: Mosaic 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Mosaic 1 requires 50 tiles in a calendar year ($5,000 in travel spend or $50,000 in credit card spend), while top-tier Mosaic 4 requires 250 tiles ($25,000 in travel spend or $250,000 in credit card spend). Keep in mind that tiles are separate from TrueBlue points, which you can redeem for JetBlue- and partner-operated flights. Tiles are only used for earning status.

Family Tiles are available to families with children under age 13, though each child needs their own TrueBlue account. To sign your child up, log into your account, click “Enroll a Child,” and follow the prompts — or simply click here.
At the bottom of the enrollment page, select “Yes” to add your child to your Family Tiles.

Once that’s done, you’ll also need to enroll your family in the Family Tiles program. The link provided by JetBlue doesn’t always lead to the correct page, but you can also enroll them by contacting JetBlue directly
After enrolling (you’ll need to be enrolled before you travel), the parent or guardian’s status tracker will earn 1 tile for every $100 spent on eligible purchases, including:
- JetBlue flights
- JetBlue Vacations packages
- TrueBlue Travel bookings (cars, stays, and more)
You’ll also earn 1 tile for every $1,000 spent on JetBlue credit cards.

Other Ways to Earn JetBlue Tiles
Of course, a child’s travel alone likely won’t generate enough activity to earn top-tier Mosaic status. A parent’s own travel will also accrue tiles, at the same earning rate as their under-13 children.
There’s one more way to earn JetBlue tiles: buying them outright. Through a platform administered by Points.com, JetBlue TrueBlue members can purchase up to 250 tiles — but at a hefty price.
Needless to say, we don’t recommend buying your way to top-tier status this way, at least not without a discount on the table. Still, it can be a useful option if you’re just a tile or two short of the next status level.
Bottom Line
Family Tiles are a helpful feature for JetBlue flyers. Families can benefit from early boarding, free checked bags, and more with Mosaic status. It’s also a useful way to boost activity within JetBlue’s ecosystem, since spending across its product lines, like JetBlue Vacations, counts toward a parent’s status tracker.
