JetBlue has (and has had) an eclectic mix of partners. One such partner, which until recently was just an interline partner, is one JetBlue has gotten a little cozier with. On April 29, 2026, JetBlue expanded its partnership with China Airlines, and with this update, TrueBlue members can now redeem points on China Airlines flights, and vice versa for Dynasty Flyer members.

Let's dig into all the details.

You Can Now Redeem JetBlue TrueBlue Points on China Airlines

China Airlines is a Taiwan-based carrier with flights to five gateway cities in the United States, including Los Angeles (LAX), Ontario (ONT), San Francisco (SFO), Seattle (SEA), and Phoenix (PHX).

With this expanded partnership, JetBlue TrueBlue members can now book China Airlines flights on JetBlue.com and the JetBlue app. Conversely, China Airlines' Dynasty Flyer members can book JetBlue flights with their miles as well.

For JetBlue members, this opens up more options to use their miles to Asia. Let’s take a look at what it looks like in practice.

What China Airlines awards can you book via JetBlue?

It’s easy to search for China Airlines flights on JetBlue.com. I was able to find redemption options from only one gateway city, New York (JFK), for several future dates. Flights from other gateway cities only returned results from JetBlue’s other partners, like United Airlines.

Redemptions start at 39,000 points plus $5.60, but prices can climb as high as 108,900 points on what appears to be peak dates.

These redemption rates (at least the lower ones) seem pretty competitive overall. Japan Airlines Mileage Bank offers awards to Asia starting at 27,000 miles one way, but charges nearly $200 in taxes and fees. ANA charges 39,000 miles to Asia during the low season, and those flights route through Japan. A direct flight from New York to Taipei for 39,000 miles (which you can get for less; see below) is pretty solid, even if it’s a long haul in economy at over 16 hours.

That said, while the press release teased both economy and premium cabin availability, I only saw economy awards in my searches. And I also wasn’t able to find any itineraries beyond Taipei.

As we’ve seen with past partnerships, integration can take some time, so it’s worth keeping an eye on this to see when more China Airlines flights become available for redemption on JetBlue.com.

It's possible to book these awards for even less

JetBlue offers a neat way to save a bit on these redemptions. The JetBlue Premier Card offers a 15% redemption rebate on all TrueBlue flight redemptions. When you pair that benefit with this newly expanded partnership, the effective cost of an economy flight can drop as low as 33,150 points.

If you’re looking to transfer points to JetBlue, you’re in luck. The TrueBlue program is a transfer partner of several programs.

Our Take

This new redemption option is certainly a welcome one for TrueBlue members, who have a lower-priced option to fly to Asia. We wish the redemptions had rolled out all at once to give a comprehensive assessment of this partnership's usability. However, that day will come soon, including the ability to redeem for premium cabins.

JetBlue and China Airlines' partnership feels more complete with the news of reciprocal loyalty program redemptions. We hope the full functionality rolls out quickly.
