It's that time again: Bilt has added yet another transfer partner to its already robust rewards program. The newest addition is the I Prefer Hotel Rewards program. As of June 22, 2026, Bilt Rewards members can now transfer their points into the program to access over 700 independently owned hotels around the world.
Here's everything you need to know about the new partnership.
Bilt Adds I Prefer Rewards as Transfer Partner
Joining well-established hotel rewards programs like World of Hyatt, Marriott Bonvoy, IHG One Rewards, and more, I Prefer (the rewards program of Preferred Hotels) is the 24th transfer partner of the Bilt Rewards program. Members can transfer Bilt Points into I Prefer Points at a 1:2 ratio. That means for every 1,000 Bilt Points transferred, members will receive 2,000 I Prefer Points.
To transfer Bilt Points to I Prefer, log in to your Bilt Rewards account and navigate to the transfer partners screen. There, you'll need to link your I Prefer account, and once that's done, you're good to start transferring.
Points can be transferred in 1,000-point increments, with a 1,000-point minimum for Silver, Gold, and Platinum members and a 2,000-point minimum for Blue members.

Preferred Hotels Is a Unique Addition to the Bilt Transfer Partner Lineup
The biggest advantage of adding I Prefer to Bilt Rewards is the program's unique property. There are four collections of properties in the program:
- Legend
- LVX
- Lifestyle
- Preferred Residences
While you might not have heard of these collections before reading this news piece, you've likely heard of some of the properties associated with I Prefer. Within those collections are Preferred Hotels and Resorts, Historic Hotels of America, and Historic Hotels Worldwide.
That means that within the Legend category, you'll find Montage properties, Richard Branson's private destination Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands, and The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The LVX Collection features well-located properties around the world, like Virgin Hotels, Pendry properties, and the Hotel Xcaret in Mexico.
The Lifestyle Collection features “approachable luxury.” You'll find properties in Kyoto, Monte Carlo, and Honolulu at some of the most desired addresses.
Finally, Preferred Residences offers luxury villas, apartments, and homes for those looking for an upscale alternative to Airbnb.
Should You Transfer Bilt Points to I Prefer?
At first glance, Bilt Members might be very excited to transfer their Bilt Points at a 1:2 ratio. Unfortunately, I Prefer does not feature a traditional award chart like some hotel loyalty programs. Instead, point rates vary by hotel and destination.
I decided to do a sample search in my home state of Arizona. By coincidence, I recently checked out of an I Prefer property, the Global Ambassador, since it was a convenient use of a Fine Hotels and Resorts credit from my American Express Platinum Card®. I performed a search for all properties in Arizona, and when searching for ash, it returned three properties. However, when selecting “Points,” only one property was available for my sample dates: the Hacienda del Sol in Tucson, Arizona.

Unfortunately, with cash rates at $224 a night (plus a $35 per night resort fee), a 25,000-point transfer of Bilt Points to redeem 50,000 I Prefer Points in the middle of the Arizona summer isn't my ideal redemption. AwardWallet members typically redeem Bilt Points for 2.07¢ per point, so I'd be looking to redeem for a property north of $517 per night. While the Global Ambassador was priced at $587 per night, no award nights were available.
Still, there are so many bucket list properties available within the program that there may be a worthy redemption for your travels.
The Bilt Rewards transfer ratio of 1:2 matches that of all other I Prefer partners. Those partners include Citi ThankYou® Rewards, Capital One, and Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards. So, if you're looking to redeem for one of the higher-end properties within I Prefer, which can price well north of 100,000 points per night, you might combine points from another program if your Bilt Points aren't sufficient.
Bottom Line
Any new transfer partner is exciting, and Bilt Rewards continues to deliver the goods with the inventive and interesting loyalty programs it adds. Still, with only 700 properties worldwide, I Prefer may not fit your travel habits. I feel I may forget about the program during my travel research, if I'm being honest.
If I do happen to remember to check I Prefer, I'll find a lot of bespoke, luxurious, and sometimes famous properties to rest my head, courtesy of my Bilt Points.
