If you have elite status with an airline, hotel, or even another rental car company, you might be a few easy steps away from a SIXT status match. The German rental car giant has a generous status match program that works with dozens of loyalty programs worldwide.

Whether you rent often or just a few times a year, knowing how to leverage a SIXT status match can mean discounted rates, free upgrades, and extra perks on your next trip.

What Is SIXT?

SIXT is one of the largest car rental companies in the world, with over 2,200 locations in more than 105 countries. Its presence in the U.S. is smaller but growing, with nearly 150 branches across the country.

Where SIXT shines is in the quality of its fleet. The company has a strong focus on premium vehicles, including plenty of models from German brands such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

SIXT has also begun replacing its old Advantage Circle loyalty program with SIXT ONE. SIXT ONE uses a points-based system to determine elite status, while the previous program awarded status based on the number of rentals completed.

SIXT Rewards Elite Statuses

In countries that still use the previous loyalty program, members can earn the following status levels:

• Express: Free with registration
• Gold: Complete five rentals, up to 10% discounts
• Platinum: Complete 20 rentals, up to 15% discounts

SIXT ONE Elite Statuses

SIXT ONE offers four status tiers:

• Silver: Free upon joining, up to 8% off
• Gold: Earn 2,000 status points, up to 10% off
• Platinum: Earn 4,000 status points, up to 15% off
• Diamond: Earn 6,000 status points, up to 20% off

As of July 2026, SIXT ONE is available in the following countries, with plans to eventually replace the previous loyalty program entirely:

How To Match an Elite Status With SIXT

SIXT offers status matches to travelers with elite status in select rental car, airline, and hotel loyalty programs. You'll need a SIXT or SIXT ONE account to request a status match. If you don't already have one, you can create one for free.

Eligible members can match to SIXT ONE Silver, Gold, or Platinum status, depending on their status with the other loyalty program.

Once approved, your matched status remains valid through the end of the following calendar year. For example, if you receive a status match at any point in 2026, you'll keep that status through December 31, 2027.

To maintain your status beyond that point, you'll need to earn the required number of status points during the following calendar year. For example, SIXT ONE Gold requires 2,000 status points, while Platinum requires 4,000 status points.

SIXT has dozens of airline and hotel partners, as well as partnerships with other rental car loyalty programs. Many offer a path to SIXT elite status, although the status you'll receive depends on the partner and your existing elite tier.

Hotels

You can match your hotel elite status to SIXT from several hotel loyalty programs, including Marriott, Accor, Radisson Rewards, and Best Western.

If you have Marriott Bonvoy^®, for example, you are eligible to match to SIXT ONE status. The tier you receive depends on your Marriott elite status.

Many Marriott credit cards offer Marriott elite status as a perk of carrying the card. That means you may be able to turn the status you receive from a credit card into SIXT elite status without ever setting foot in a Marriott hotel.

The same is true for those with Accor Live Limitless (ALL) status. ALL is eligible for status matching, with the SIXT ONE tier you receive depending on your existing ALL status.

Radisson Rewards members can also match their status to SIXT ONE, with the SIXT ONE tier depending on their existing Radisson Rewards status.

Finally, those who have Best Western status can also match over to SIXT ONE. Best Western Rewards Gold matches to SIXT ONE Silver (which is free anyway), Best Western Rewards Platinum matches to SIXT ONE Gold, and Best Western Rewards Diamond matches to SIXT ONE Platinum.

How To Initiate a Status Match to SIXT

To request a SIXT status match, you'll first need a SIXT account and proof of your current elite status, such as a membership card, account screenshot, or confirmation email showing your name and status tier.

You can submit a request through SIXT's status match registration form. Some partners also have dedicated SIXT pages with links to request the corresponding status match.

Once you've submitted your request and proof of status, SIXT will review your application. The company says you'll typically receive confirmation by email within two weeks. Once approved, your new SIXT ONE status is active immediately.

SIXT ONE Elite Status Benefits

SIXT ONE offers increasingly valuable benefits as you move up the status ladder, including rental discounts, bonus points, and complimentary upgrades.

Silver status is free when you join SIXT ONE and offers up to 8% off eligible rentals, along with member-only offers and the ability to Skip the Counter at eligible locations.

Gold members receive up to 10% off eligible rentals and earn 10% bonus points. Platinum members receive up to 15% off eligible rentals, earn 20% bonus points, and are eligible for a complimentary one-category vehicle upgrade, subject to availability.

SIXT ONE's highest tier, Diamond, offers up to 20% off eligible rentals, 30% bonus points, complimentary upgrades, and access to SIXT Diamond Lounges at select locations.

SIXT’s status match program is an easy way to unlock valuable rental car benefits, especially if you already hold elite status elsewhere. Depending on the status you’re matching from, you could receive SIXT ONE Silver, Gold or Platinum status and enjoy perks like discounted rentals, bonus points, and complimentary upgrades for Platinum members.
