Enterprise Rent-A-Car is one of the largest car rental companies in the world, with over 10,000 locations worldwide and 250 airport locations in the U.S. alone. Its Enterprise Plus loyalty program offers a variety of benefits, including the opportunity to earn elite status and points redeemable for free rental days.

Here's everything you need to know about the Enterprise Plus program.

What Is Enterprise Plus?

Enterprise Plus is the loyalty program for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. It's a revenue-based program, so you earn 1 point for every $1 spent on car rentals worldwide. When you earn enough points, you can redeem them for free rental days. And the more frequently you rent with Enterprise, the higher you can climb in the elite status ranks.

If you don't already have an Enterprise account, you can enroll using this link. It only takes a second to enroll, and then you'll be on your way to earning points and elite credits.

Once you've created your new loyalty program account, make sure to link it to your AwardWallet account. Don't have an AwardWallet account yet? Sign up for free and track unlimited rewards programs and travel plans.

Enterprise Plus Elite Status Levels

The Enterprise Plus program has three status levels above the entry-level Enterprise Plus tier: Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Each membership level has its own set of benefits. However, all levels receive the following perks:

  • Members-only check-in area at participating locations.
  • Receive special offers once you subscribe to Email Specials.
  • A dedicated customer service phone line.

Enterprise Silver

You'll qualify for Silver status after six qualifying rentals. Silver members receive the following benefits:

  • 10% bonus on points earned from qualifying rentals.
  • One free car upgrade per program year.

Enterprise Gold

Enterprise will award you Gold status after 12 qualifying rentals. Gold members receive the following benefits:

  • Receive a 15% bonus on points earned from qualifying rentals.
  • Two free car upgrades per program year.

Enterprise Platinum

You can qualify for top-tier Enterprise Platinum after completing 24 qualifying rentals or 85 rental days. Enterprise Platinum benefits include:

  • Receive a 20% bonus on points earned from qualifying rentals.
  • Four free car upgrades per program year.

Earn Enterprise Status via a Status Match

If you don't want to complete 24 rentals or 85 rental days to earn top-tier Enterprise Platinum status, you can leverage your status with one of 40 popular loyalty programs to complete a status match. The Enterprise status match extends beyond competitor rental companies — you can use your hotel or airline status to request a match, too.

You'll need to fill out some basic information on the status match website, like your Enterprise member number, email address, first and last name, and proof of status. If approved, you'll enjoy matched status through February 28 of the second calendar year following your approval. That means if you got approved in January 2027, you could enjoy your matched status until February 28, 2029.

Unfortunately, Enterprise doesn't make the qualification metrics publicly available. Your best bet is to submit proof of your highest status tier across your hotel, car rental, and airline programs. If you have top-tier Hertz Status President's Circle and bottom-tier Delta Silver Medallion status, submit proof of your Hertz status.

How To Earn Enterprise Plus Points

Earning Enterprise Plus Points is exceptionally straightforward. Members earn one point per $1 spent on a qualifying rental. Qualifying dollars include those spent on all of the following items:

  • Base rental rates.
  • Qualifying equipment upgrades such as GPS, car racks, and ski racks.
  • Paid upgrades.

Qualifying dollars exclude any amount spent on taxes, fees, vehicle license fees, and insurance. It also excludes any amount spent on fuel and refueling charges.

What counts as a qualifying rental?

Qualifying rentals include paid and free rental days at participating Enterprise Rent-A-Car locations in the U.S., Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and the Caribbean. Additionally, rentals made with National Car Rental in the U.S. and Canada, where the member's Enterprise Plus number is listed as the program preference in Emerald Club, also count.

Various other rentals do not qualify, including those made through a third party or as part of a tour or travel package.

Do Enterprise Plus points expire?

Enterprise Plus points have a generous expiration policy — your points will expire if your account has no earning activity for 36 months. Redeeming your points does not count as a qualifying activity to prevent them from expiring. The only way to extend your point expiration date is by earning more points.

Can you transfer Enterprise Plus points to another member?

One key benefit of the Enterprise Plus Program is the ability to transfer points from one member's account to another. Transfers between accounts are subject to the following terms and conditions:

  • Members can transfer between 500 and 7,500 points per year.
  • Transfers must occur in increments of 500 points.
  • Members can make one outgoing transfer per calendar year.
  • Members can receive one transfer per calendar year.

Your account must be open and activated to receive points. Once received, points have the same validity as any existing points balances or three months from the date of transfer — whichever is greater. Once complete, point transfers are irreversible.

Earn points and miles with airline and hotel partners

If you don't care about earning points toward free rental days, you can earn airline miles or hotel points with one of 10 loyalty programs:

The number of points or miles you'll earn will depend on the program. For instance, you can earn 500 Hilton Honors points per rental, or you can earn 4 Flying Blue miles per per 1€ spent.

If you choose to earn one of these points instead, you forfeit the opportunity to earn Enterprise points.

How To Redeem Enterprise Plus Points

You can redeem your Enterprise points for free rental days. The exact number of points required per rental will vary depending on multiple factors, such as location and vehicle type. Free days start at 400 points per day, excluding taxes, fees, and surcharges.

One of the best features of the Enterprise Plus program is the lack of blackout dates or award charts. Simply log into your account, select your rental, and choose between “Pay in $” or “Pay in Points.”

Free Rental Days are priced dynamically, meaning the number of points required varies with the cash rate. And on average, you'll get between 5 and 9 cents per point on redemptions.

How To Maximize the Enterprise Plus Rewards Program

If you want to truly maximize the Enterprise Plus program, you'll need to use a credit card that earns bonus points on your rental. However, you should also consider using a card that offers primary rental car coverage so you don't have to pay for additional coverage with Enterprise. This way, you can grow your points balance while protecting yourself in the event of an accident or car theft.

When you rent a car through Enterprise, it's considered a travel purchase, so you should pay with cards that offer bonus points on travel. Here are a few of our favorites:

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (Rates & Fees): Earn 5x on travel purchased through Chase Travel℠, 3x on dining, select streaming services, gas and EV charging, vacation homes, and online groceries, 2x on all other travel purchases, 1x on all other purchases.
  • Wells Fargo Autograph Journey℠ Card: Earn unlimited 5X points with hotels, 4X points with airlines, 3X points on restaurants and other travel, and 1X points on other purchases.
  • Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card: 10X miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, 5X miles on flights and vacation rentals booked through Capital One Travel, and 2X miles on other eligible purchases.

Note that the Autograph Journey only offers primary rental car coverage on rentals outside of the U.S., and offers secondary coverage inside the U.S. However, its fantastic earning potential on general travel purchases makes it a strong contender to use when renting a car with Enterprise.

Our Take

Rental car loyalty programs don't get much simpler than Enterprise Plus. Its point-earning structure is straightforward, as is the process of redeeming Enterprise points for Free Rental Days. Couple that with how widespread Enterprise's footprint is, and there is little not to like about the program.
