As history suggests, Amex tends to rotate offers on the Marriott Bonvoy Business Card between Free Night Awards and bonus points. So, if you’d prefer bonus points instead, you might consider waiting.

While Marriott offers several personal credit cards, elite night credits don’t stack between personal cards. This stacking feature is only available when you hold the Marriott Bonvoy Business Card alongside a personal Marriott card.
Free Night Award each anniversary
Another great perk of the Marriott Bonvoy Business Card is the Free Night Award you’ll receive each year on your account anniversary. This certificate is valid for a stay costing up to 35,000 points, and you can even top it off with up to 15,000 additional points if needed.
Big spenders can also earn a second Free Night Award after spending $60,000 on purchases in a calendar year. That certificate is also worth up to 35,000 points.
In many cases, this annual Free Night Award can easily deliver more than $125 in value. That makes it possible to offset the card’s annual fee with this benefit alone.
Discounts and elite status

Who’s Eligible for the Marriott Bonvoy Business Card?
You'll need to have a business to be eligible for this card, though that moniker is easier to earn than you may expect. For example, selling items on eBay or renting out an apartment to tenants will both qualify you as a small business.
In terms of earning the welcome bonus, the restrictions are quite stiff. You'll need to examine which Marriott cards you have in your wallet now, have had in the past, and which bonuses you've earned (and when!) to understand your eligibility.
The rules will apply based on cards you've had in the last 30 days, cards you've opened in the last 90 days, and those where you've earned a bonus in the past 24 months.
Those Marriott-specific rules are on top of the standard American Express application rules:
- You can hold a maximum of five Amex credit cards at a time.
- Amex typically doesn't approve the same person for more than two cards in a 90-day period.
- You can earn the welcome bonus on a card once per lifetime.
