Each year you renew your World of Hyatt Card by paying the $95 annual fee, you'll receive a Category 1-4 free night award. This certificate is valid at any property labeled Category 4 or below.

But if one Category 1-4 free night award isn't enough, you can earn a second one if you spend $15,000 on your World of Hyatt Card in a calendar year. And you can earn up to seven additional free night awards through Hyatt's Brand Explorer perk. That's a lot of free nights!

Each calendar year, you'll receive five elite-qualifying nights thanks to your World of Hyatt Card. If you have plans of earning a tier of Hyatt status higher than Discoverist, it's a welcome boost. Additionally, cardholders can earn two elite-qualifying nights per $5,000 spent on the card.

World of Hyatt Explorist status requires collecting 30 qualifying nights or 50,000 base points. Top-tier Globalist requires 60 qualifying nights or 100,000 base points. If you combine the elite-qualifying nights you'll earn from planned paid stays, award stays (yes, those count too), your cardholder bonus, and any spending-based elite-qualifying nights, the upper echelons of Hyatt elite status should reasonably be within reach.

Earn Hyatt Points in Several Purchase Categories

Like most credit cards, the easiest way to earn a bundle of points is to collect the sign-up bonus. And the same is true with the World of Hyatt Card, but one thing that differentiates it quite a bit from its competition is its ongoing earning rates. Access an Advance Booking Window

World of Hyatt members can book award stays up to 12 months into the future, which for most people feels like an eternity away when planning their vacations. But World of Hyatt Card cardholders get Hyatt's advance booking access, letting them book their award stays up to 13 months ahead of time. This means that by holding the card, you virtually get a leg up over most other members, regardless of your status.

While this may not sound like much of a benefit, it may mean you get to snag the lowest award availability before anyone else get their hands on it.

Who Is Eligible to Apply for the World of Hyatt Card?

Chase issues the World of Hyatt Card, so it's beholden to the infamous Chase 5/24 rule. This unwritten restriction stipulates that Chase will more than likely deny your application for a new card if you have opened five or more card accounts in the previous 24 months — with any bank.

And if you happen to have had the card, currently hold the card, or received a sign-up bonus on the card in the past 24 months, you won't receive approval. According to the offer terms:

“The credit card is not available to either (i) current Cardmembers of this credit card, or (ii) previous Cardmembers of this credit card who received a new Cardmember bonus for this credit card within the last 24 months.”
