The World of Hyatt program is undergoing major changes, keeping everyone in the loyalty program on their toes. Whether it's category changes or rolling out new award charts, recent changes haven't been very positive.

But as part of the latest wave of program changes, Hyatt is launching advance booking access. Soon, some members will be able to book awards more than 12 months in advance.

Here's all you need to know about this new World of Hyatt advance booking access and how to take advantage of it.

What is Hyatt Advance Booking Access?

Beginning June 30, 2026, Lifetime Globalists, Globalists, Explorists, and all Hyatt cobranded primary cardholders will have advance booking access to make free night award or points + cash bookings earlier than all other members. The Hyatt advance booking access opens a full month ahead of everyone else's booking window, making for a total of 13 months.

From Hyatt's T&Cs:

For Free Night Award or Points + Cash Award reservations made on or after June 30, 2026, Explorists, Globalists, Lifetime Globalists, and primary cardholders of a Hyatt-branded Credit Card (regardless of tier status) will have advance access to booking as compared to other Members. Eligibility for this benefit is based on tier status at the time of award booking and booking windows are based on the time zone of the applicable hotel or resort.

Currently, all members are able to secure award stays — whether free night awards or points + cash — for a full 12 months into the future. This new benefit pretty much means that Hyatt Discoverists and members who have not achieved any elite level will be the only ones left out of this new perk.

Why Hyatt Advance Booking Access Matters

Those with advance booking access will be able to snag those hard-to-get reservations at aspirational or otherwise high-demand properties before anyone else gobbles up all of the standard room inventory.

This might come in very handy in situations where not competing with a few thousand other members for those very few standard rooms could make or break your travel plans.

Consider bookings around massive sporting events like Formula 1, World Cup, Grand Slams, college football championships, etc., or cultural events like NY Fashion Week, South by Southwest, Coachella, Stagecoach, etc., or simply your holidays around Christmas, New Year's, or school vacations.

How To Unlock Hyatt Advance Booking Access

Since this new perk is only available to Explorist members and above, it's worth a mention of what it takes to move into one of those categories.

Via elite status: Explorist status is earned with 30 qualifying nights in the course of a year, and Globalist status is yours with 60 nights in a calendar year. Hyatt elite qualifying nights can be paid with cash or points — or earned through credit card spending or even hosting events.

Via credit cards: Holding The World of Hyatt Credit Card also qualifies you for Hyatt's new advanced award booking window. That means you'll be able to take advantage of this 13-month booking window, a significant leg up on everyone else who doesn't have the card.

Bottom Line

Like many of the benefits of elite status for World of Hyatt, I suspect this one might fly under the radar for most people. However, for those who meticulously plan their getaways with surgical precision so they can make the most out of their points (hello, that's me!), this new World of Hyatt advance booking access will be welcome news.

Having early access to those standard rooms before anyone else might help you stretch those hard-earned points a little further, letting you get more value from them.
