Originally debuted as a temporary perk in 2021, Hilton's Daily Food & Beverage Credit is now a permanent staple for hotels within the United States. Rather than free breakfast, elite members staying at U.S. Hilton hotels can enjoy daily credits usable in various ways. Some members love the flexibility it gives them — while others miss the guaranteed free breakfast.
Here are all the details on how this benefit works.
Hilton Breakfast Benefit vs. Food & Beverage Credits
Hilton offers different food-related elite benefits depending on where you're staying. At participating Hilton properties outside the United States, Gold, Diamond, and Diamond Reserve members can receive complimentary breakfast for up to two registered guests.

But if the stay is at a U.S. property, elite members receive a Daily Food & Beverage Credit instead of a complimentary breakfast. The allotted amount varies by brand and location, as shown below:
| Hilton Brand/Partner | Daily Food & Beverage Credit (double for 2 guests) |
|---|---|
| Conrad™ Hotels & Resorts | $25 |
| LXR Hotels & Resorts™ | $25 |
| NoMad™ | $25 |
| Waldorf Astoria™ Hotels & Resorts | $25 |

If you don't stay at Hilton properties often enough to earn status organically, several Hilton co-branded credit cards include automatic Gold or Diamond status. You can learn about these benefits in our guide to Hilton Honors.
How Does the Hilton Daily Food & Beverage Credit Work?
The Daily Food & Beverage Credit is provided to eligible elite members who have selected it as their MyWay benefit.
At check-in, hotel staff will explain which restaurants, bars, and other dining venues accept the credit. If a property has multiple dining outlets, make sure to confirm which locations participate, as third-party-operated venues may be excluded.
To take advantage of the credit, simply charge your food and beverage purchases to your room, and the credit will be automatically applied to your bill. Overages beyond your credit, including any tax and gratuities you wish to include, remain your responsibility.
The credit is good for up to two registered guests. Unused credits do not roll over, so you'll need to use the benefit each day to maximize its value.

Hotels That Already Include Breakfast for All Guests
Some Hilton brands provide complimentary breakfast to all guests, regardless of Hilton Honors status. At these properties, you don't need elite status to receive breakfast benefits:
- AutoCamp
- Embassy Suites by Hilton
- Hampton by Hilton
- Homewood Suites by Hilton
- Home2 Suites by Hilton
- LivSmart Studios by Hilton
- Tru by Hilton
- Spark by Hilton

Exceptions for Elites With Access to Executive Lounges or Premium Clubs
Diamond members get access to Hilton's Executive Lounges, while Diamond Reserve can access Executive Lounges and Hilton Premium Clubs at participating properties. Having access to these exclusive spaces means you can pop in at multiple times during the day and enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks — or in some cases, made-to-order meals and cocktails.
Members who receive complimentary breakfast through an Executive Lounge or Premium Club are not eligible for the Daily Food & Beverage Credit.

Bottom Line
For travelers who don't care much about breakfast — or simply prefer more flexibility — Hilton's Daily Food & Beverage Credit can be a valuable perk. Instead of being limited to breakfast, you can use the credit toward other eligible purchases throughout the day. Afternoon drinks by the pool? Check. Late dinner at the hotel after a long day exploring a new city? Check.
On the other hand, some travelers just want a complimentary breakfast before heading out for the day. For those guests, the Daily Food & Beverage Credit may feel like a downgrade compared to the complimentary breakfast benefit offered at many Hilton properties outside the United States.
